We talk about the handheld component of the Shark Rocket. We find it a bit bulky and heavy for a handheld vacuum - at least when compared to something like the handheld component of the Dyson V7 cordless vacuum. Also the heavyish handheld component makes the stick vacuum itself feel top heavy.
The vacuum will not stand on its own so it must be leaned against a wall (or leaned against something) when stored. It is not that uncommon for a lightweight cordless to not stand on its own but a wall mount would have been nice. This Shark Rocket cordless does not come with a wall mount.
There is no on-board storage for the tools that are provided with the vacuum. It would have been fairly easy to provide a simple plastic tool clip for the wand. When you are vacuuming and need a tool you will have to fetch it from wherever you store it.
In order to empty the dust canister you must first remove the wand - or the dust canister door will not open. We do not find this a problem as we always remove the wand anyway because it makes it easier to move/carry the vacuum, but some folks find having to remove the wand annoying.
The vacuum is a little loud when compare to other cordless vacuums we’ve tested. We use a digital noise level meter and test the Tineco Pure One S12, the Dyson V8 Absolute, the Shark IONFlex IF252, and the Shark Rocket Pro. We show a table of noise level results (decibels) - in both low and max power modes.
The unit had issues with clogging (in the cleaner head) when we vacuumed up pine needles from our floor. We then performed a pine needle pickup test using the Dyson V10 Absolute and the Dyson V7 Motorhead. They picked up all the needles without clogging.
We have noticed wear and fraying at the corner of the fins on the brushroll. So far this has not compromised any of the unit’s cleaning ability - at least not to a level we can notice. But it is a little disconcerting and we don’t know what will happen long term.
We ran a series or run time tests. We tested run times on carpet and bare floors and in both low and boost power modes. In boost mode our Shark Rocket Pro lasted longer than the manufacturer’s specifications. However in low power mode - the mode we run the machine in most of the time - the run times were short of the manufacturer’s figures.
We performed edge cleaning tests with the Shark Rocket Pro, the Dyson V8 Absolute, the Shark IONFlex IF252 and the Shark NV752. Edge cleaning for the Rocket Pro, V8, and IONFlex was not particularly good.

This unit and most Shark vacuums will stand on their own. Remove the head from the wand, there is a bracket on the head and on the front lower area of the wand.

In europe Shark sells several cordless models that provide duoclean and zero-m anti hair system, for the life of me I dont understand why they wont release one in the U.S. . When asked they say that they have no plans to design one, which is strange as they already have several different variants in there european catalog.

Although I like my Shark cordless, Shark Customer service will drive you nuts. Shark makes so many models that look alike but differ by accessories or batteries. The person you talk to at Shark may not have a clue what you're talking about. It's not in his database. I saw one on Amazon, called Shark with questions, and they swore it did not exist. Amazon used Shark's photos and video. Insanity.

Older review and comment, but I'd check the, What we love about the Shark (this model), before spending all the extra on the Dyson. The Shark out performed the Dyson on several tests. Not all tests, but the ones I'd care most about. Too many things I don't like about Dyson, like the price and holding down the power button. Would never pay that much to not have auto on. People keep complaining, and the buggers won't change it.

With all due respect you're comparing a $300. vacuum compared to The Most Expensive vacuum which is probably twice as much ! also I seriously doubt you would be able to hear a 4 dB difference in noise !
