To be fair, it's not uncommon for bats to carry diseases.... We've had several outbreaks where I live, and I say this as someone that isn't afraid of bats. I'm just not sure I'd want more bats in my yard than I've already got. With my luck, I'd end up housing 100 bats that end up carrying diseases that harm others or themselves.

It's the only flying mammals, which means not only diseases they carry can infect other mammals (e.g. humans), it also flies so it has highest body temperature than other mammals, which means diseases they carry will be difficult for other mammals to combat with higher temperature (i.e. fever)

First 2 has value, the slick surface product could work well for homeowners and pest control as an extra deterrent in cities and a potential redirect in rural locations. Especially since it can technically be used to redirect pests to specific areas where traps could be placed to further deal with pests. For the second pitch, I can see it being done in rural areas to assist in reducing insects. It wouldn't be the only thing you would use but it would be an effective natural method to safely reduce insect populations.

The bat thing makes no sense to me, like even before covid bats were known as carriers of many diseases. Also if there isn't an established bat population in your area already you're just providing homes for wasps and hornets and other insects. Also the number of bats you would need for this to completely get rid of mosquitoes is insane, like Kevin says you would literally have to be one witht the bats. Like that property ain't yours anymore it belongs to the bats.

Speaking of scorpions on the walls.. I grew up in the arizona desert in a trailer and we were poor and often couldn't spray for bugs.. one night my sister tried waking me up cause a scorpion fell from the ceiling onto me! I was like 6 years old 😂 when I was 13 me and my friends would camp on the roof and one time we went to get on the roof .. I put my arm up on the shingles and immediately feel stinging.. I jump down and we back to the other house on our property and sure enough there was a large bark scorpion on my back.. my friends grabbed it and killed it and my arm was numb from about 5 stings.. took 2 days to get feeling back in my arm.

I really do not see how that slick barrier would work. Pest have plenty of ways to get into your home and if they cannot get in one way they will find another, such as water pipes vents what have you. It's either trap, poison , or repel. As far as the bat house goes, well snakes also kill pest but who wants a yard full of them? Just seem as though people would be trading in one pest for another and actually may end up with both. Having something that must be surgically implanted, assuming the risk of surgery, just for freaking Bluetooth? Come on.
