Ha..the narrative has changed a lot over the past couple years. At first everyone was skeptical with a lot of 'haters', but after over a thousand verified purchase reviews on Amazon and word of mouth spread about performance and publishing scientific results, it is highly positive in skateboarding now. Once we published deals with the US Military, NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, PGA Tour, the Olympics, Samsonite, Harley Davidson and multiple Fortune 50 companies, people have come around!

The longboard with the shark wheels vs skateboard display is pretty biased towards the longboard. A more accurate test/display would be to use the same board with wheels of the same durometer and size. Board size and wheel size/durometer have a huge impact on board control while going over rough surfaces

True. Since this video, Shark Wheel has had years of scientific testing performed at Universities (San Diego State University, Mechanical Engineering Dept and others), labs and real world testing. The Shark Wheel has advantages in most categories.

Do you have, or have you ever considered, bicycle wheels?
@SharkWheelZack5 жыл бұрын
Yes. It was the first product Shark Wheel ever built actually. That's when we found out the Shark Wheel shape is not ideal for anything that leans/tilts (bicycle, motorcycle, 2 wheel scooter, and rollerblades). If you email me at zack@sharkwheel.com, I'm happy to send you the Shark Wheel bike video, it's a quick video that is pretty cool.

So, the three flaps on the side of each wheel have a function? Wouldn't just a set of sine grooves result in the same handling?
@SharkWheelZack4 жыл бұрын
They are 3 sine waves conjoined. There are no flaps at all. And to answer your question specifically, no it would not have the same result. The sine wave tends to push small objects left and right as they roll smoothing the ride. A circular wheel with sine wave grooves would not have a side wall to push the small objects on the sides of the wheel or to reduce the shock to the ride. People driving their car intuitively know to drive over a speed bump or a dip in the road at an angle to reduce the shock. The Shark Wheel is always striking at an angle to reduce shock. Having all parts of the wheel in sine wave form has many benefits.
@bethcausey53503 жыл бұрын
Nice I hope they use them on cars next, and looks like they would also have to use way less rubber to make car tires which will cut back on cost tremendously!!! Can't wait, but would definitely be nice to see how they perform on ice...

No, they have a larger surface area than regular wheels, hence they need more rubber.

@mightyoak111114 жыл бұрын
Nice video. However, in order to perform a true test, one would need to compare it with a traditional wheel that also has grooves. Afterall, the "tread" is different between the two wheels. I grooved regular wheel may function as well and may not be proprietary so would be cheap to make.
@SharkWheelZack4 жыл бұрын
A grooved regular wheel can catch debris, wheres a sine wave grooved wheel does not. The Shark Wheel has been scientifically proven (San Diego Stat University, Mechanical Engineering Departmetn) to outperform the traditional wheel in nearly every major category. Multiple Fortune 500 companies now use the Shark Wheel in other applications.

How would they compare to a wheel with regular tread? That's what this is. A wheel with tread.
@SharkWheelZack4 жыл бұрын
The Shark Wheel can be used as a tread pattern, but it is also a wheel in most of our applications. Look at this incredible picture of a Shark Wheel in its singular form. This wheel rolls perfectly smooth believe it or not: ibb.co/mytZ0B7
@winrid4 жыл бұрын
@@SharkWheelZack I'd love to see a comparison against normal rubber wheels with an aggressive tread pattern. Stage Rally wheels should do.
@SharkWheelZack4 жыл бұрын
@@winrid Hi, you can see all details and scientific testing at wefunder.com/sharkwheel. (1) In pallet jack/forklift wheels (material handling industry, Shark Wheels last 50% longer because they dissipate heat in a sine wave footprint (the most efficient shape) (2) In casters, Shark Wheels have 57% less friction when in motion making it much easier to push carts, wheelchairs, and other applications that use casters (3) The ability to go over rough terrain is the #1 advantage. The 30 degree approach angle of the Shark Wheel strikes obstacles at an angle and tends to push them left and right out of the way. A traditional wheel acts like a steamroller and tries to go over objects, while Shark Wheels tend to move around them. The angle also reduces shock significantly (think of going over a speed bump in a car an angle to reduce the shock) (4) In farming, Shark Wheels are the only wheels that don't continue to go over the same path. So, they significantly minimize trench digging, which costs farmers a lot of money and time to repair. Trenches also lead to the failure of other equipment (gear boxes, drivetrains, etc.). In the most recent test (funded by the US Government), Shark Wheels dug a 1'' trench, while the industry leading wheel dug a 14'' trench. There are many more advantages, but those are a few that have been scientifically proven by San Diego State University, Mechanical Engineering Department in 2 years of tests, as well as lab testing and other real world tests. There is a reason Fortune 500 companies, Samsonite, Harley Davidson, NBA, NFL, PGA Tour, MLB, NHL, Olympics and the US Military use products with Shark Wheels.

Ok imma bend the wheels on my bike. Also if shark wheel wants to make these wheels for doing skateboard tricks then they'll have to be harder than the already existing ones
@TheSharkwheel3 жыл бұрын
Good decision on bending your bike wheels. You should pick up some nice advantages! 100a durometer is the hardest street skateboard wheel, the scale does not go past 100a hardness. That is a common durometer/hardness
