Good luck lifting off the old toilets, and wrangling and lifting the new ones in place. Those suckers are heavy, and breakable if your grip slips.

Just FYI you don't need to replace the stop (water shut off) to change your toilet but if you want to it's best to get a pro because it requires a plethora of special tools you'd have buy for 1 time use. Most people don't change that valve when they change a toilet; it's really only necessary if the valve is leaking or locked up.

I’m pretty sure you shouldn’t leave paint on your copper pipe when installing the shark bite valve.

One thing you can do to help with setting the toilet is to get stainless steel nuts and washers to secure the bolts to the flange to keep them in place and to prevent pulling them thru the flange.

I am not a fan of SharkBite as I used a number of their fittings in my basement about 11 years ago and 2 of them developed very small leaks after about 8 to 9 years after their install. I am not a plumber but my father in law was and he helped me with updating the plumbing in my basement. All of the cooper pipes were free of burrs and I have now replaced all of the SharkBite fittings with brass or cooper fittings that were sweated. Now none of my sweated fittings have ever leaked..

So you used Shark Bite 11 years ago and they failed after 8 years. Therefore the new sweated fittings are no more than 3 years (11 - 8), but you implied they are better because they haven't leaked yet. I think you need to wait another 6 years before you can make that claim.

Did it work, yea, but a few things. 1, you should not leave the cover off of the meter, rare, but just wait till someone steps in and gets hurt, it's going to cost you, at least put a orange cone there. 2, unless the old valve was bad, why replace it, and while you did deburr it, you didn't clean the pipe, leaving the chance for the oring to leak.(ps, I NEVER allow any push on sharkbite fittings on any of my properties) 3, learn the correct way to turn the pliers, they will grip better and less scratching of the fitting. 4, most places require the toilet to be siliconed around the base after being installed.

All these bothered me too. Also looks like over tightened the supply onto the valve, should have removed the aerator from the faucet to prevent it catching any debris from all that shaking of the pipes. I would never installed a sharkbite type of valve where it could be bumped by people setting stuff around it or against it. Had too many of those start leaking under sinks by being pushed against and the oring doesn't like being disturbed at all after some time.

One of your viewers made a comment about you leaving paint on copper pipe; he’s right. Thought you were extremely articulate, unusual for a plumber. As a rule, I don’t allow men with ponytails to work for me. Ponytails and tattoos on a man is a total taboo, as is any female doing what I consider to be a man’s job. I’m an octogenarian, so I’m old and old fashioned. However, race plays no role in my decision; but Black men with dreadlocks need not apply. For me, appearance is everything for entrance, then merit keeps you in; lacking it gets you out. I left a physician’s office because of her hair style and the fact that she was wearing “scrubs” for a consultation. Lab jacket over clothing would have been acceptable.

Go ahead folks listen to this fellow who doesn't have a clue. First of all shark bites are only for a temporary fix until you can do it properly. Shark bites have a way of coming off, something you do not want when away on vacation for a week. Secondly he didn't not clean the pipe properly. It is amazing how many wannabe plumbers there are.
