Then this movie happened after Spy Kids 4 happened and I'm just like "Please just someone give this guy a budget to make Michelle Kills Again Space, and while your at it battle angel alite II" cause even with the ridicoulous premise of Machete being basically massively overpowered (I buy mexican superhero just he seemed like a human person in the 1st is all still like batman is), or CGI giant eyes girl in her literal anime-dystopia and screwed up world with some getting better character development (yet are told almost nothing about an entire war that changed everything as we know it in favor of futuristic robotic cyborg played roller derby I mean motor ball) would make WAY BETTER FILMS/SEQUELS!

After seeing an analysis someone did on the first movie, this really just comes off as a Nostalgia grab. It has zero connections to the first movie and completely overlooked the meaning of it. If they wanted to do something similar, Max could've had a kid who ended up having the same kind of vivid dreams and instead parents fighting, maybe they just aren't around as much and that leads to the meaning of their dreams- shenanigans happen, Max finds their dream journal probably and thinks back to when he used to have one and ends up realizing he doesn't spend as much time with them as he should.
