Well, I was hoping for Sturm, but still good luck to Ryan! Go Sharks

I’m rooting for him Brodie! It’s crazy how many negative Nancy’s we had on the fb post from the sharks. I don’t think he’ll get us a chip necessarily, but I think he’ll get us in the right direction with culture and structure. My guess is in 3 seasons we could be reaching the playoffs - not going deep maybe but getting to em and I’d consider that a win. I hope the best for him

The players vouched for and wanted Boughner as well. How did that turn out?? The players assessment shouldn’t be taken into account. It’s can actually lead to the players walking over him. Would’ve preferred Sturm. He knew what a winning culture looked liked. Not to mention he was part of the Kings rebuild. This guy knows nothing but the Sharks losing culture. This move doesn’t fill me with confidence.

Sharks fan here. Personally, would have preferred Marco Sturm but have open mind towards Ryan Warsofsky based on his ECHL and AHL accomplishments. The endorsement from current players is insignificant to me considering most will be gone from the NHL worst team when we finally turn the corner. Brodie, your point of team identity stands out. I have rarely watched the Sharks the last five years, but it is not due to the losing. SJ has had no identity or direction during this dark period. I expect another losing season next year, but can the Sharks be consistently competitive even in defeat? If the majority of our losses are by one goal in the 24-25 season, that will be a step in the right direction.

Good assessment . My initial reaction was "Oh No , they didn't want to pay for a high end coach!" I feel better now after watching this video , but I'm still a little hesitant , lets see what happens .

Players got they guy they wanted great, I just hope they don’t get too complacent. But I’m pulling for the guy absolutely But all I got to say is if I’m Hasso is, gotta win 25 at least and not one game allowing 7 or more or you’re fired after the season. This BS of being dog shit is getting old it’s time to turn it now.

The good is Ryan Warsofsky has a calder cup in his trophy case all ready. The man knows how to coach. The Bad, is Assistants basically run the practices ! The D-core was in transition all season long due to injurys. As I saw it, Quinn and Grier wanted Benning, Emberson, Ferraro, Vlasic, Burroughs, MacDonald, & Rutta as their top 7 D-core. Benning, a key member of 2023 team. His puck moving skills were very much missed in 2024. Emberson who Grier picked up from NY was hurt all year too. Adding Addison through a trade with Minnesota didn't seem to pan out too well as Caylen didn't seem to grasp the system too well, and Henry Thrun needed a full year at the Barracuda, but was called up do to injuries. My view on Ryan and his Defensive style is that Grier wouldn't have hired him if he didn't like his style in the first place. With that said, don't you think Quinn took what Ryan used in Chicago & Charlotte and used parts of it with SJ? My fear is the team gets no better than it was last year. I get Ryan might have a more defensive brand of play (like Boughner did) which could help the whole team D issue, But is that style going to be the best way for the Sharks to move going forward? I guess only time will tell. I just wish that Grier would have gone outside the organization to hire a new voice, with new ideas. I'll give Ryan a chance though.

Mike Grier has no qualifications to be a GM. He has single handedly destroyed a once proud and successful franchise. The is an example of DEI in its most egregious and damaging form.
@sharkhaos_probably5 ай бұрын
How? San Jose was on its last legs due to some terrible contracts made by Wilson. Grier burnt it all to the ground and is trying to build it up stronger now. The team needed a rebuild, Grier gave us one. Whether it pans out is another question entirely, but it's better than consistently being a bottom-middle team that can't get excellent prospects or any playoff success.
@davidbarnett86175 ай бұрын
@@sharkhaos_probably However, the Sharks were a top team that were favorites to make the payoffs every year until Grier was installed. Grier ruined a serviceable team that with a few small tweaks could have become a SC contender as they were just a few years ago. Only a complete moron would get rid of two of the best defensemen in the league, Burns and Karlsson, both Norris trophy winners. Then, lose Meier, Hertl, Kane, DuClair and a host of other point scoring forwards (including Janmark). Grier could not have hurt the organization any more if he wanted to. Grier has no idea what he is doing and remains the laughing stock of all the other teams.
