Braid is for boats and lure fishing IMO. I’m with you Wayne, the line snags left from heavy braid can ruin marks for a long time.

Brilliant video Wayne. Personally I love the dongle. In wales it’s all I used bigger dongles for the bigger baits and landed good blondes. Plenty of hounds. Back down Cornwall I’ve been landing a real good run of huss on the dongles brilliant works well. Great video well done again.

Another good vid, educational, will have a go down there in the spring, absolutely love Bossington for the scenery and seclusion. We did some lure fishing there a few weeks back. Considered going there yesterday but don’t have any rotten bottom rigs, so went to a sandy beach north (two bays up, it’s a bugger to get to, you know the one, we went down from the woods, the climb back up is dire). 👍

I fish with braid with a tapered leader. I do agree that straight through braid is not great. 40lb braid with tapered 70lb leader. But my second rod is mono with a leader.

I fish 50lb Berkeley fire line straight through Hardly ever snap off If I do it snaps at the knot for my clip The amount of line snags I’ve brought back in is silly Unfortunately you are right some people are terrible with braid ins snap off 100s of meters of it and mono anglers stand no chance against it
