I just want to point out that Steve immediately started to throw a tantrum when it started to look like he might not get exactly what he wanted, and basically tried to pressure them into accepting his offer without thinking about it further (by threatening to withdraw if they didn't accept on the spot). They hadn't even given any indication that they were rejecting his offer - they just wanted to talk about it some more, and he immediately freaked out and went "Well if you don't accept right now, I'm out". That's really shady, and you should be concerned if someone with much more power and money than you, who you're about to go into a shared business with, starts acting like that before you've even sealed the deal. Because he's exactly the kind of person who will throw his weight around like that EVERY time he wants something.

Loved the bug product, but the set up was a bit odd. I liked that she pointed out that the biggest selling feature of her product is not having to look at or think about the insects, but shes also marketed the product as The Edible Bug Shop with a big bug mascot. Still, it's a great product and I'd be willing to try a bug cookie. Edit: It seems marketing teams may have helped to ammend this concern as her business has changed to "Circle Harvest" rather than remaining as "The Edible Bug Shop". Bugs remain on the packaging, but in a tasteful and even cute way. I'd love to try some of the new products they're offering now that I see some research has been put in to better marketing.

The insect flour actually maybe a logical solution and maybe really good food substitute, but I think you can't get people to get over the fact that they are eating bugs. I also know that in are current processed foods we eat a ton of bugs a year, but it still makes people physically ill knowing they are eating bugs! Like humans have been eating bugs for protein since the dawn of mankind, but it's just so hard to get over. I'm sure they will rename it something Ausie so it isn't "bug flour", I am also sure it is completely healthy to eat and will not have any ill health effects and might be really much more health benefits, but mentally it is just hard for people to mentally to consume!
@cthecheese16203 жыл бұрын
Idk, I feel like many have gotten over the fact that the meat they consume likely comes from an animal that was abused from birth until death. It’s really the end product that actually matters, which is why the cookie was the first and only thing that was sampled by some of the sharks. Not being so forward with the source being bugs would probably help the business go further. Protein Flower is a lot easier to market than Bug Flower.

Got over it quick, would pick them up, and chase her around the house with them, eventually placing them outside. Now I let them stay inside, keeps the mosquitoes away. Not to mention, I have a toad that lives on my front porch and goes to town for dinner. Sometimes if you’re really up for it you can feed a spider ham/meat, it’s pretty cute bc they taste with their legs. Wasps are super carnivorous and I’ve had a couple let me feed them by hand. Honestly bugs are chill if you let them be. They’re anatomy is also really cool, like lil aliens. Only ones that can go are bed bugs, mosquitoes, ticks, fleas, and lice. But even then, they all have a purpose in the environment. I went on a trip to Costa Rica and in the jungle our guild took ants from the tree and told us they were edible. Here’s the kicker, their main diet was mint leaves, so they literally were just crunchy mints. It was wild. 10/10 recommend
