That's a huge factor in his success. It's not difficult at all to trust someone who will tell you exactly what they're thinking especially when they know you probably aren't going to like it. Bluntness in business is a good thing, there is not much room for emotion and it is never personal.

Why is the Australian version so much better than the American? I feel like these guys actually negotiate , whereas in the US shows if you even talk to another shark you lose your offer. This one is far more entertaining.

The shark is less likely to see a good return on their money for their time if they can't help. They will see a greater return on their time investment by waiting a couple hours or days for a guest who needs help in that shark's particular area of expertise. It's not just humble; It's strategic.

You can't get voted out of ownership. And you can set up shareholders agreements that require unanimous consent of shareholders to make decisions. You can't vote them out once they have bought a percent of the business (it's not like a public official who can be voted out of office), if the original owner wants to take back the shark's half of the business they'd have to come to an another agreement to be bought out of their contract (basically buying back the shark's half)

I can't say I have ever torqued what Torque Safe is meant for, so maybe I don't fully understand why it's made the way it is, but to me, it would make more sense if the valve was reversed so that if your hand wasn't on the safety switch it wouldn't work. Taking your hand off while your hand is the tomato seems like the type of fumble that would actually cause the injury, not while the tool is in your control with the switch.

The Just Jerky guys said, "[Glen] was fighting for us." I didn't remember that, so I had to go back and re-watch it. Glen didn't say much other than that his family got into the jerky industry 20 years prior and was going to make an offer after the "red balloon". Granted, they cut a lot of stuff out, but Glen said next to nothing, let alone "fought" for them (aside, perhaps, from having the lowest offer, partially because he went next to last). It's so interesting how we reason things in retrospect.

Torque safe: should sell your safety switch to tool manufacturers. This should be mandatory on all hydraulic torque tools. Safety is number one priority.
