His heart is in a good place but business and philanthropy don't initially mix. Mr. Wonderful is right, how do you tax or burden a company that hasn't been fully established yet and expect it to do well. Even worse you expect sharks who want a return on their investment to invest. The correct approach is to face the business fully, establish it, and make massive profits then start a charity fund for any cause close to your heart OR, set up a non-profit and ask for donations. Mr. Beast is a classic example of how to do it right.

"Amore" is a French word and he's pronouncing it wrong. In Italian, it would be pronounced the way he's saying it, but it wouldn't be preceded by "do"

How have you seen this guy's pitch and ended up at "this guy is selling guilt"? He's using one of the meaningful occasions in people's lives (which is usually overpriced on purpose) to do an even more meaningful good thing around the world. I get it that you've probably been born in a country where access to clean water was never an issue since your birth, but that's not true for a very large number of people. If you want to spent tens of thousands of dollars on a ring to show you really care, you can go to a famous brand and impress your loved one. This guy chose to do something beautiful with a part of that money and you somehow think that's corny... And even if you cut everything out of the story, the guy made tens of millions out of 20k...that's hella impressive.

I would've personally done the $600k for 6% with a royalty of $50 a unit until I recoup the original investment. and then when I recoup that, I would reduce the equity to 4%. Matching the energy of the mission of the brand itself. It does throw in the security of the ROI, but is also far from greedy and is more in financial faculty and less stress on business growth than his ask.

Exactly. He said average purchase value was $3900 and on average they put $50 to their cause (the water wells, etc.) per order. So on average, you're putting less than 1.5% of revenue towards the cause which your entire marketing is built around. But at the same time you could see their reactions when he said that the ring he gave Lori was almost $11K, the upcharge is ridiculous. If a couple really wanted to do something good, they'd be better off buying from a different brand and then donating 25% off the difference in price.
