Giggs in this mount rushmore is disgraceful. He was never anywhere near as good as anyone who was brought up. Everybody else Shearer, Henry, KDB, Rooney, Terry, Gerrard, Scholes, Lamps- all these were some of the best players in their position in world football, let alone the league. Who was the best LW in the 90s & early 00s? Giggs would be in the discussion, along with Nedved (and for a shorter subsequent periods between late 90s and early 00s, Overmars and Pires), ergo, he had a legitimate claim to being one of the best in his position in world football. "If he played 5 years" - at the end of the day, he played far more, ergo his longevity is a valid input here. Longevity is a attribute in itself. The hilarious thing is, at the tail end of his career, he was arguably one of the best creators in the league when he played more centrally, though a liability defensively.
