I beg Shaun simply googles Mo Salah Heat map. Pleaaaase look at it and tell me he doesn’t occupy wide positions. Nearly every modern winger goes into the box as well fuck all teams play 2 strikers anymore. The difference is those other players don’t have the same impact inside the box so he stands out. He creates plenty from out wide and constantly links the play with Trent and whoever is in midfield. Don’t pretend you watch Liverpool and see it with your own eyes when you’re clearly delusional and stuck in a path of denial that won’t allow you to accept that you are wrong. If you don’t rate him as highly as others fine that’s your opinion but to say he’s not a winger is factually incorrect.

Salah had reached the same amount of goals (110 goals in 173 games) as Hazard did in his entire Chelsea career (110 goals in 352 games). Now we rate wingers based on goals. There’s different type of wingers who fill different roles. Salah is responsable for goals, Mahrez is responsable for beating players and carrying the ball, Beckham was responsable for crossing the ball, getting assist and had more defensive responsibility. It’s dumb to compare the 3 based on a single stat/role. I’m not saying who’s best but It all depends on preference and how well they fill the role they’re given I guess.

Mahrez best player for Man City last year? He scored 9 and got 6 assists. If you take away all 9 goals, City would not be a single point worse off. Without his goals and assists they would have been 4 points worse off and still won the league by 8 points. Compare this with Sadie Mane 19/20 who Shaun seemed to think didn’t do much. 18 goals 9 assists. Without his goals they would be 18 points worse off and without goals and assists 26 points worse off. This means they would have lost the league by 8 points.

But that being said, Ronaldo in his 3 last years at United was voted in the top 3 Ballon d'Or nominees, 07-09, Salah best placement was 5th and 6th. Not to mention you're talking about a guy who entered the prem in his prime and a guy who's came as a kid and dominated it in his early 20s.

Just coz Salah has 1or 2 goal more than Ronaldo in prem in 2017/18 doesnt mean anything. Ronaldo was a conplete player in 2007/08 season. Suarez had 1 goal more than Ronaldo in single season. Morover Ronaldo player as a proper winger rather than Salah and many of goals were shared by Tevez and Rooney.

I mean to Shauns point about what position he plays, a lot of people say Mo Salah has adapted his game to being a Forward/inside forward, Hazard also finds himself sometimes as an inside forward but his game is more so played on the widest parts of the field and also picks up the ball and moves it up from the halfway line. Salah does do parts of a normative winger role but has adapted his game where he usually picks up the ball in more attacking areas looking to create a shot first or assist another forward. Hazard's game usually finds himself in the half space either looking to go to the byline to either cross and assist first or to link up and create a shot. They are pretty similar roles ill admit but some main distinguishing factors between the 2 players id say are how many shots each takes per game, passes per game and also crosses per game. I think you would agree traditional wingers would tend to cross more and pass more and forwards would take more shots and probably not have the space to complete passes as much especially if they are high up the field.

That's the literally reason why he's able to rank him low. People who have never seen Giggs play (me being one) will always put Giggs top 5 just because we never saw him play so have to accept the number of trophies he won as proof of how good he was. Someone who actually saw him play can develop their own opinion of the player and stick to that opinion forever, meaning they're not limitatedb by how he looks on paper.

Tbf as a Chelsea fan I have to give it to Salah. Yes hazard is more aesthetically pleasing and was amazing considering he was the most dependent person in the Chelsea team.
