Joyel I just want to thank you. You've inspired me to be more confident in wearing my natural hair. As a college student, I've experienced severe hair thinning as a result of iron-deficiency anemia. Coupled with the constant tension from protective styles, single strand knots, and frequent traveling splits, my hair was suffering. You inspired me to cut some of my hair, and wear it in it's short style, as is. I'm still struggling with hydration and moisture, but I'm starting better. Just wanted to let you know how much you truly touch others with your personality and content. Keep it up Joyel!!

I gave up on air drying my hair and my daughter’s hair years ago. It takes DAYS to dry and I just feel like it doesn’t matter how many times I detangle it, as the hair dries and shrinks on itself it just tangles right back up. I cannot, i just can’t. Not for two type 4 heads. I bought the revlon blow drying brush and never looked back lol. I respect the hell out of you, because my arms hurt just from watching this.

I agree. I tested my hair last night after I washed it with no product to see how much it would shrink up....WHEN I TELL YOU THE TANGLES AND THE SHRINKAGE WAS RIDICULOUS......Lol. I always stretch my hair right after I get out of the shower now. Either way, I love Joy El's routine. It's simple and it's kind of similar to mine, except I don't band and I add a little bit of oil before I twist or braid for the night. But I DON'T let my hair just air dry by itself. Lol. Take care! ❤❤❤

If your hair is at least out if the twa phase, I suggest banding it in like six to eight sections, with three or four sections on each side. That would be a relatively quick and low maintenance way to extend wash n go’s if you really are not here for that high maintenance natural life. I’m all about the low maintenance, “lazy” natural life. And when my hair gets ling enough, I’ma go back to the pineapple method at night. If I’m feeling enthusiastic, I may twist the pineapple top, but that won’t be a regular thing. (I’m in the twa phase again after my 3rd big chop last year... and after shaping it thing feb)

HEEEYYYY!! Happy you love the mug💖 I love music in this video very 80s L.A.Law, Moonlighting feel😍 Your hair is looking sooooo good twisted and stretched. Since I too have been playing more with twists and such, I’ve found that once I get to the end of the twist, adding more cream, comb for add. detangling then finger twisting the ends helps with the look and lessens the tangles. This was great for me, I needed to see how to keep them at night😬🤣

Hey! I just did a routine very similar to this. I typically wash my hair every two weeks. I think maybe if I wash more often like 1x per week/1 week in a half my hair will thrive more reconsidering I will be putting more moisture in it. I just made it to the end of my week with great stretched hair (yay) I'm going to do this for a month and see how things go. Thank you for all of your tips and techniques. Your hair is stunning 💕💕
@antoinettechevalier24534 жыл бұрын
Thanks for such a detailed stretching tutorial! Surprised that you didn’t add moisturizer during each nightly re-twist (no “butter cream” or whatever), and yet u still got definition the next morning. I always feel I have to re-moisturize w each re-twist.

You live in a dry climate the same as I. I live in Colorado and it is so dry here you can't even leave a piece of white bread on the table for 5 minutes before it turns as hard as a brick so there is no way my hair has ever held moisture like in your video. If I can repeat the same process with my hair that would be a life save because I also have very dense hair & I do have low porosity hair. So maybe I'll try some of those products you used on your hair and see if that works for me and if it does, it will be a game changer & freedom like never before!🎇 ...Because I can see my hair drying out and shrinking up as the day & week goes on without adding some type of moisturizer and oil to my coily hair. ...Fingers crossed.😝

I'm a new Subbie and I just adore you personality and your sincerest. Loved the video and I am definitely going to try your daily routine on my natural hair.... because I do have a tendency, since my beautiful natural hair journey just to plait my hair and put a scarf on at night, and also not washing and conditioning like I should because when I go out I just slapt on my wig and go.... I need to stop this crap and start taking care of my wonderful 4B natural hair! 🤗. Thanks Joy-el for your inspiration. You are such a cutie! ❤️. I'm gonna start doing better this week and will try to keep you posted💪. This is Sept. 15th, 2020 and I'm gonna get it going this week Ms. Joy-el! 💪👍🤗💯. Thanks Again.... Ms. Darla,,, Cinti, Ohio👍

Wow, your hair behaves a lot like mine! My twist outs swell like that too so I don't separate either. I just let them plump throughout the week and sleep with it loosely pulled back with a scarf over it at night. The scarf keeps my roots a little more stretched but keeps the back free, loose, and fluffy. I have fine stands (but high density) so I occasionally put flaxseed gel on the corded ends to keep my sections together. I learned that from Indigenous Strandz.
