Kate Bush with Running Up That Hill on the radio in the Queen Vic kitchen upstairs, before Den comes in and switches it off. The song was released in 1985, the same year as EastEnders first began broadcasting on BBC 1.

Roly the Poodle and Willy the Pug were the first dogs to appear and feature in EastEnders during the 1980's. Roly was unfortunately run over and killed in 1992.
