They own a boat fleet for over 50 years that takes locals and visitors out to our Channel Islands. Along the ride to the islands we spot many whales and dolphins and sea lions. The rock is placed at our beach near surfer's point. Momma would be proud! She loved the whales and our beach..so thank you for the great inspiration!!!

I’m so glad to see someone besides me wearing a mask. Some people don’t understand. Resin is very bad. I should know. I got really sick from it. From being stupid. I didn’t like wearing the mask. I wear that long sleeve shirt and My pants and of course, my heavy mask and glasses I learned the lesson the hard way

What you thought was a mistake turned out great. The 4 layers gave depth to the piece. Although I get what you are saying. Watching video for research, I want to have one layer without resin so it looks like the whale is breaching. (well not a whale but a shark) Thanks for sharing your process.

Sharon you have inspired me to take up resin painting. I love your work! Thank you for your tutorials. I started with the pod of whales. I haven't painted for over 40 years nor ever worked with resin but it turned out pretty good. It did take me 5 pours lol it's a learning curve.

I absolutely love it and enjoyed the video. What was perceived as a mistake I think made for a better work of art. I love that the whales stand out more than they would have on the 3rd pour. What I get from this is a sense of speed not just movement but with all the froth i feel like they are flying through the water as happy little whales (a definate Bob Ross referance)

I am very happy you did this second video although i did catch on on how to do it but thanks again for doing it again on video now watch i was custom framing for years and professional photography so trust me i have this thing that i hate when people throw out a good frame so trust me i will be using them all up lol you wont be able to stop me (smiling) :P

I would say practise practise and have fun discovering your way of creating it. Sorry (even though you enjoyed) didnt catch how to create it. Would you find value in a more step by step process for something like this? What a great profession you have, I love a good frame and always see the beauty in old one to upcycle. I love anything to do with the ocean scenes or maybe some birds too which ever suits you ... for me im getting started on another one already while this one is drying .

Hi Sharon Love your work. It really helping me learn lots. Can you describe what thing you have the resin piece placed in to work on it? Did you make it to stop resin leaking over the edges? And secondly what do you use to cover your piece when it’s drying?!?

Hello, glad you are enjoying and learning lots. I work with Resin inside an MDF box that Neil made for me to stop me leaking everywhere, I am a messy worker lol. It has a base and sides that are made by MDF off cuts, I have a large and a medium size. I cover my work with a lid Neil made that covers the top, all MDF. Hope that helps
