Naturalist Intelligence - What is "Nature Smart"??

Do you have naturalistic intelligence?🌱This is a type of intelligence that I've been focused on lately... Been doing some re-potting of all my plants this spring, and I'm getting ready to install a planter box!

I'd say if I had to pick one out of all the 9 groups... I'd say I fit in this group. I've always loved being outdoors and I LOVE animals. I definitely have an aptitude for dog's. And if I hear or see a bird, or other animal I immediately get excited and intrigued. For example to go outside and want to look up into the large tall tree to try and find the bird with the beautiful sounds. I also have a massive appreciation for looking at all of, God's, creation. Even in a broken sinful world, things still look breathtaking. I can only imagine how much more beautiful it originally was. I am always in awe of His handiwork. Growing up in, Australia, I am blessed to be in such a beautiful yet rugged Country, with all these unique animals and endless beaches.

Personally, I think naturalisic intelligence should not be limited strictly to nature as it relates to the outdoors, but perhaps in a broader sense, a delight in understanding the nature of things. I love the outdoors but I also just love understanding all sorts of things both natural and man-made and how they work. I could be wrong, but the classification seems more narrow than its spectrum. All of the "ologies" seem to step into nature because it's the study of the science and nature of stuff.

The most powerful type of motivation is "intrinsic motivation" which is pursuing things out of our own desire. I think the best you can do in this situation is introduce them to nature type activities and hope they get inspired to pursue it for themselves. For example, you can ask them if they want to help you with your garden or ask them if they want to go on a hike with you.
