Ive tried for years to sharpen my v tools with absolutely no luck at all. and with one viewing of your video i was able to put a usable edge on a v tool. Your "white line" and "paper" technique is awesome. Thank you sir for share some of your knowledge with me. (now I cant wait to watch the other three videos to see what you will teach me....thanks again)

So when you store a tool that won't be used for a while do you put mineral oil on it to keep it from rusting? Thank you for a fantastic video.

Normally I wipe my hand-oil off the tool before I put it away. Mineral oil sounds like it would work well for storing the tools.

When you flattened the V-tool to create the white line there was a great deal of gouging on the whetstone--Should I worry about the scratches in the stone? I'm brand new at this and found it rather alarming, to be honest. I am using a water stone that scratches quite easily. Thanks!
