I dont care how well another can sharpen knives, for me every man has to sharpen their own knives.

I have that same rod and its a bit aggressive compared to the smaller ones . I like using the rods from my lansky turn box sharpener for a final few passes. Ive never used AEBL steel but ive heard its good stuff .

AEB-L sharpens fast and easy, it's tough, and it is stainless. I like the fact that it's so easy to maintain and can have a razor sharp edge easily.

Love that knife. AEBL I find is a really good steel. I prefer it over some of the carbon steels even - such as 1095 etc. It seems to do very well.

@@kanukkarhu These are my first knives in AEB-L. I have one in 14C28N that is supposed to be just AEB-L with an improvement in stainlessness. I haven't used the 14C28N a lot, but it seems about like AEB-L. These are starting to be my favorite steels. They don't hold an edge as long as some, but they take an absolutely razor sharp edge very quickly and easily.

What rod is that?

@@phila1714 It's just a ceramic rod I got at Smoky Mountain Knife Works. They're not really expensive, but they work really well. I don't think brand matters much as long as it's ceramic.
