Is it ok that when you sharpen the right side of the knife the sandpaper is going in one direction, and when you're sharpening the left side of the knife, the sandpaper is moving in the opposite direction?

There is definitely a learning curve going to the newer KO machine. Time, patience, practice and marking the interior of the new belts to easily identify what belt your using. Getting to know the speeds on the new machine is also a little learning curve.

Hey Doug. How come no new videos. I have this unit(WSKTS) and one thing I am noticing is that it scratches the blade from he fine particles. I started taping the blade. Also, I seem to always nick the thumb studs. I am not sure if this unit gives professional results. I am very hesitant to use this on one of my expensive high end production knives.

Are your thumb studs half way up the blade? You have to use blue tape to keep the finish of your knife.

Great video, and i am following the directions as you are doing it...but I can get them very sharp, but not razor sharp. Any idea why?

My BK9 has 20 degrees. How do I use the original WorkSharp to sharpen it? Note that the original one does not have 20 degree marking on it.

Hey Doug if I use metal polisher on my 6000 belt would it bring the edge alittle sharper then just using the belt alone? and I'm using Blue Metal metal polisher

I have a question. When pulling your knife through, should I be pulling with my knife perpendicular to the ground? Or should the spine be leaning to the left or right when drawing it through each stroke?

The knife should glide against the plastic angle guide, the one you adjust to whatever degree you desire. That plastic guide helps you retains the same angle during all strokes. The belt itself is always in the same position and the angle guide moves left/right. So, adjust the angle, than slide against the guide. Hope this helps.
