Im from harleston, and I can confirm that the doors are shart they are locked via magnets and if you pull them hard enough you can open them. They are have a tendency not to unlock, also you have to pay for the toilets too. I can confirm that no one ever used them and it was waste of money.

I know a lavatory just like this that was installed at a large bus station in the next town, when it was totally renovated in 2014. It was operational for less than a year before the doors no longer opened, there was quite a lot of vandalisim on the outside- and although theres a dent in one of the doors, i dont know why these days it still accepts 50 cent coins but doesnt actually open, ever. So as far as i´m concerned, their mistrust is justified.
