I forgot how much I loved these books. I hope you’ll do the dark/ice age stories eventually!

Thanks Lore! This is gonna be a great trilogy of videos, nice job. It’s a shame the mechanics of Arena’s magic versus this version of magic aren’t discussed, but it might have been the best option. I DO think there is some merit in the “wizards summoning slaves from distant realms” angle, but it was sort of lost in the larger “wizards are reckless, immoral dickheads who cause collateral damage” angle. …I think the story would have benefitted from some nonhumanOID sapients at this point, beyond centaurs. A dragon, an elemental, creepy fey? Some proof that magic EXISTS as part of the world, beyond SPELLS. It is an Extremely common pet peeve of mine though.

Yeah, something strange with both Arena and the Greensleeves trilogy is that both stories seem to be inhabited like...almost exclusively by humans. While fantastic monsters DO show up a lot and are a major part of the plot, there doesn't seem to be a lot of like...awareness of it? Like, apparently there's a group of elves living in the Whispering Woods, Greensleeves met them at some point so she's able to summon them. But somehow Gull _never_ meets them before they're summoned?
