Remembering the Kerry babies case how the Gardai identified that poor girl as killing the baby on the beach and hounded her for years. It was nearly 40 years after that the Gardai said sorry and the girl was innocent.

Am so glad you brought this up! It is a horrific experience for any human being to go through, and that is to be persecuted and wrongly blamed for a grievous crime that one did not commit. Ian Bailey was such a strong character not to allow himself to be broken by the constant persecution he has gone through and that includes his former partner Jules. I hope one day the true criminal is found.

@@random6809 Yes Random, it is appalling when the police use tunnel vision to focus on an innocent man with, in this case, Ian Bailey’s life being completely destroyed. I was aware of the Colin Stagg case and god only knows how many others have been convicted of a crime they did not commit. Your replies to various commenntators on these channels re this subject when people have stated incredibly disturbing and cruel comments about Ian, in which you have challenged their odious assertions, is very heartening to me in a sea of verbal sludge full of appalling condemnations of Ian’s character but particularly poignant when Ian is now dead and unable to defend himself at all apart from his loyal solicitor. Thank you for standing up for justice - Ian was not perfect but he did not deserve to be the target of such malignant abuse. RIP Isn

Ugh. Violent abuser who was the only violent drunk living next door to Sophie. His ex Jules ended up in hospital she nearly lost an eye because of one of his drunken violent and abusive episodes. Lucky for her he didn’t actually kill her. He claims no woman should be afraid of him. Thats called gaslighting. When you beat and injure women of course they should be afraid of him. A proven abuser narcissist alcoholic notoriously lies. The scratches on his arms and head from killing a turkey. What bullshit. His own parents said that he was never right. His ex said he sneaked out and was missing during the time Sophie was murdered. I’ll always believe that he did it. Just like the french legal system knew he did too and found him guilty. His story and attitude reeks of guilt. His arrogance and dancing around the truth is beyond clear. An innocent man would have even a little sense of sadness sensitivity and humility. They would say it’s awful but I’m so sorry. Ian has none. He says he prays for Sophie. Total liar. Of course he doesn’t pray but he’s hoping that sounds good. Horrible man. I hope Sophies family can rest in peace now that he’s no longer alive.

@@lululiga333 He lived three miles away from Sophie’s cottage, that is not next door. There is no actual evidence of Bailey having been there that night with a lot of prejudice shown towards Ian from the very beginning, by the authorities as well as village gossips. It is too convenient to cnclude that a man who was charged with domestic violence can then be charged with taking the life of an occasional visitor to the area, based on his history with his partner. There is a huge difference and when or if, the real guilty party is ever found, a lot of people will be hanging their heads in shame.
@lululiga333
@lululiga333 11 ай бұрын
@@freedomunltdomg you think that being a serious domestic abuser means nothing? Covered in scratches the same day? His whole attitude stinks of guilt. His saving grace was how badly the gardai handled it all. You can imagine he was innocent but not when you know how women abusers who beat women are well capable of murder. If he’d been a sweet guy living nearby who never harmed a fly well maybe. But we’re talking about an alcoholic drunk and well proven woman beating abuser who lived nearby. How many other violent alcoholic women abusing men lived nearby? Answer. None. How many smart arsed arrogant and rude unrepentant violent alcoholics lived nearby Sophie? Zero. What shows his guilt even more to me. Not a drop of sweetness kindness or empathy. Just a ton of excuses explained in an aggressive and very cold way. A true innocent man would be open and sweet. And he would be openly sad about Sophies death. He’s so far from either it’s so obvious to me that he’s the one.

@@freedomunltd The biggest red flag re murder and a man who is a domestic violent abuser. Is how they might end up upping their abuse to murder. Its textbook stuff. The ultimate control of any abuser is murder. If only he had been a good guy suspician could never have been put his way, Its a totally rational conclusion to think that an arrogant abusive narcissistic violent drunk is capable of murder. @delmns The family state that she was flying to Ireland because the boiler wasn't working. Bit odd when you consider that she had her housekeeper to open the cottage for a repair guy a week earlier. Would you really fly all the way to Ireland and drive all the way there on the 20th, leaving your son just before Christmas, to check on a boiler repair when you already had a housekeeper having already done it a week ago? The housekeep stated, "I got a heating repairman from Bantry and he fixed the problem and repaired the boiler. That was more than a week before Sophie arrived". Nah, there is something more to the December visit THAT close to Christmas, it certainly isn't this boiler repair that had already been done the week before. Why would she ask people to go with her to check a boiler?

There are so many questions in this case? Why would Sophie fly in for a few days before Christmas when her son was quite young still? Why fly in the depts of miserable winter in West Cork for two days? Why not wait till after Christmas ?Why did she ask her friends to come with her at shirt notice and they were all to busy to go? Also what about the reports that someone was breaking into the cottage? Was she home to check the cottage or was something else going on? Someone reported seeing her getting the petrol and someone was in the car with her.If you look at the CCTV of her in the airport she has a small bag on her back? Also why did she run down the drive? Why not pick up the phone if she saw someone outside the house? Did someone call her to go down to the end of the drive or was she running from the perpetrator? Why did Daniel du plantier ring at 12pm when she was found at 10 am the following day? Was he covering his timing? Why did he not come over to Ireland when she died?Bailey was used in this case. Yes he didn't help himself with his responses after but he was deemed guilty when they didn't bother to check any other leads? For all we know someone could of easily came in and out of Shannon and Dublin airports and killed her and left just as easily? Ian may have had his problems but did he really walk the four miles up the road even though he didn't really have a guarantee that he knew Sophie would be there that night . He had returned from the pub and he had the article to write. Sounded like he didn't have much money I doubt he would jepordise his job in the Examiner. Also why was it never revealed who Marie Farrell was with that night? Isn't that person a suspect if he wasn't cleared? You only have Marie Farrell as an alibi when she had already lied. Why did she make that phone call saying she saw someone at the bridge then said it was Ian they she said she lied? Did she or didn't she see someone? The whole investigation was changed by this .Then she walked off the stand yet Ian was persecuted his whole life. Innocent until proven guilty. There was no forensic evidence yet it was pinned on him because he fit the description and they didn't have to do much police work. You have to remember they were taping the police stations at the time. Reports and files were convenienantkyvgoimg missing.They made a mess of the forensics and left the poor lady under a tarp that night not really acknowledging what time she died. Like did she have the breakfast or what or was that already in her system from the day before? Plus they never really told her family properly before it was on the news. Shocking really the cover up and lies. Maybe there's another reason Bailey didn't win the defamation case because the whole lot of them were corrupt as hell and covering for each other. How do we know the neighbours don't know more? Wouldn't they have heard her screaming? There's way more to the story.

@clearlymiriam Her family curiously never give an explanation as to why she would go there right before Christmas, nor state they asked her why she was going when she was asking for someone to accompany her. That is off in itself. Did she go just on a whim, just to decompress at the olace where she liked to relax? Her family should have made that clear when trying to help solve the case, as they have to know and that would shed light on what potentially happened

I can’t blame the family but they should move on. The French outcome was bullshit. What’s the point of near 30 years of grief and explanations and public embarrassment? I’m not convinced that Bailey killed Sophie. He’s benefited greatly from the notoriety and if his agenda was to gain from Sophie’s family then he’s succeeded. this guy is creepy and a woman beater but does this make him a murderer ? this case is mind boggling.
@random6809
@random6809 Жыл бұрын
@juliad368 Indeed, one of the issues around this case is Bailey himself. He is a woman beater, what he did to Jules should have seen him behind bars, but of course back then in Ireland beating a woman was seen as a right and he got off lightly. From the description of him trying to touch up the girl sleeping in the studio, he is clearly a sexual predator, his diary entries demonstrate his inner thoughts on young girls too. He is clearly full of himself, he has a superior attitude, clearly well educated, however his handling of this case shows him to lack common sense and self-awareness. As you can see from comments, this encourages people to convict him on his personality rather than evidence, however that is a very dangerous slippery slope. It is the very meaning of "witch-hunt", burning women at the stake simply due to personality. The ongoing Cold Case investigation has revealed a couple of interesting leads. One is that a French speaker was witnessed at the pub with scratches on his face. He drove a rental car with false number plates. Another very interesting one is that Sophie had met with two French men who were hiding out locally from organised crime. Did the gang go to her looking for these men? A third is that there was a man she was close to who's wife was very jealous. There is far more to this case than what the original bungling police found in their haste to convict the local weirdo, and it isn't pointing in Bailey's direction yet. The French had already found DNA that was not Bailey's, if advanced DNA techniques can get DNA off the murder weapon, who knows where it may lead?

@@brianmcginley2743 he has been convicted in France without having any defence and without there being any physical evidence. I personally lean towards him being guilty, he comes across as very shady but I don't know that for a fact because as I said there's no physical evidence to prove it, if there was he would have been convicted in Ireland. My point was that you are obsessively posting hundreds of comments across numerous videos which is ironically the exact same thing Bailey is doing with his fake accounts.

@@fantasyboxing71 Except I am not Bailey, it is Brian that is stating it and others repeating it from his spamming and obvious trolling. Bailey uses his real name, he does not shy away from social media. Other than his unused cr@ppy poetry YT channel I have never seen him post on YT. He does X and TT, not YT.

Maybe,just maybe,but I doubt it,why did the Gardai destroy the bloodstained gate ? Shut up ! We destroyed it because we hadn't any room for it in Bantry. Our station is too small !!! But,but but if the gate had the victims blood on it,why was the gate destroyed? Are you deaf ? We hadn't enough room for it in the station. But,but,but...just leave OK. We're busy here.

It isn't just the gate that is missing, I mean "destroyed"...there is plenty of other missing evidence too.
