Former Assistant Garda Commissioner Mick O'Sullivan joins Michael O'Toole on Shattered Lives today.

i remember when the drug squad was about 4 men 70s at the bottom of ship st the castle ,they did not know what a sheet of black star acid was or even looked like , they cost us 25 pence each to buy in the dam . back in dublin it was each 1.50 over a thousand . times 4 sheets nice mark up in 79 ish . hash was about 25 pound to 30 for 1 ounce a kilo in the dam 300 . strap a couple on ya get home make bugs bunny it was mainly hippies no serious gangs had sussed it yet james street was miles ahead in moving dope from the dam and london to dublin . the brown dearby in james st was a well known meet up joint for other deals and the new drug racket the first path ways to our currant gangland were set in motion from dublin 8 , gangs robbing banks soon switched over to drugs there was so much money to be made with less risk dublin soon turned into the wild west real fast . one former friend even went to india late 70s all the way to dublin best hash ever to make it to D8 rip dickser

Old Dinny Mullins head of the drug squad nice man he caught me with hash outside the meeting place in Dorset street. He got a five spot of hash on me ,yet missed the ounces in my motorbike helmet. Good old innocent days.
