Fun fact the director Brian Levant was a massive Flintstones fan and I think it kinda shows given how he recreated the ending to each episode of the show.

The entire movie really shows that Universal really wanted to stay as true to the animated series as possible.

what a novel concept eh? having people who are fans of something making it. If only they did that today, instead of seemingly hiring people who HATE the original thing and do everything to change it =T

@@Trakker1985 that can help but doesn’t always work out to a great film. This isn’t what I consider a bad movie, but speaking as someone who isn’t a fan of the flintstones I do appreciate all the clear hard work into recreating the iconic parts of the show, the cast were pretty good picks, and like I said there was clear passion. But I could honestly take or leave this film.

1:56 when i first saw this movie with my dad, the ending really made him break out laughing until the credits. I guess this show was a big part of his childhood and it still makes him laugh.

did anyone noticed the immortal Mel Blanc was credited as the voice of Dino (which he did in the original cartoon). What a testament to the talents of Mr. Blanc, considering he passed away five years BEFORE the movie was released.

Did you know they originally wanted Max Wright better known as Willie Tanner on ALF to play Mr. Slate? But Wright felt that the character was too similar to Willie Tanner and also Stephen Tablowsky was also considered.

Not to be THAT guy, but Mr. Slate said the "Stone Age" of construction would be over with the innovation of concrete. Doesn't that make Fred's old job of quarry worker kind of, you know, pointless?

There are still quarried material used in the production of concrete, and if they’re moving to other means of production, doesn’t necessarily mean Fred can’t be involved.

2:37 As funny as the ending is (and I know it's in the original cartoon too) Fred could just climb through the window. It's not barred or that high up. Even in the cartoon it wasn't that hard to climb through.

Strangely, I never liked the cartoon as a kid. But even I can just how much care went into this movie to reproduce as much as possible. It's a goofy feel good movie made with all the heart in the world. SO WHY THE FUCK DOES IT MAKE ME CRY?????!!!!

I would have liked to have seen fred tell me slate that Barney switched tests with him and should be given the executive job he earned and Barney reply something like “after everything that’s happened I think I would just like my old job back workin up there isn’t for me”

Although that is True Barney was always Humble. Knowing how Fred got, he wouldn't want to go through that to. Plus thanks to his quick thinking he and Fred got the vactions everyone's wanted and some extra.
