I find if I use water as hot as you can comfortably handle it softens the bristles and makes shaving easier. I love the feel of a good shave with a cut throat razor. I was asked how I do it and the answer is carefully !

Thanks, Ray. The first time I tried it, the razor was dull and I had some serious razor burn :-) I just didn't know what truly razor sharp needed to be.
