@@g-bruk8887 about 200 dollars American, if 200 dollars will keep disposable safety razors made of plastic out of the landfills then it’s well worth the price. The problem in America is young men here grow up with safety razors and are entirely unfamiliar with straight razors for the last 100 years. So there would be the teaching curve of learning the old way to shave again. But well worth the cost.

As a barber 43 years, I have to say Japanese shears, razors and steel implements are by far the best in the world. I've tried all kinds. The Japanese beat German Solingen steel in the 80's by a mile and never looked back. All my steel tools are Japanese. Thank you. They literally become extensions of my hands.

People now does not know that old school razors are mor3 economical than disposable ones..you can just buy one in your lifetime and just sharpen it with a leather belt. Cheers from philippines! “Paste” is the word you’re looking for. Pasta is spaghetti. It is made from clay. My understanding is most smiths make it themselves but there are commercial suppliers. Companies that sell knife making supplies would be the logical place to start.

I would do any job they asked happily if I could become a citizen of Japan and just have a Tony little apartment home that was mine. Would be fun to make some friends and share stories and just work then go relax. It won’t make sense, but culturally I feel like I understand them and how hard they work and it’s just something you do and are quiet and polite about it. I’d flourish there. I was born in the wrong place.
