I saw her in the Mobile AL civic auditorium about 15 years ago. It was winter time and she was battling the flu. She did not want to disappoint her fans and put on a fantastic show. April 5, 2015 - Easter Sunday - San Marcos, Texas - Dear Shawn, I could listen to this song forever! Actually, I expect to be! Crazy! I know. But I just came form Mass at 'Our Lady Of Wisdom' church here and it was awesome! I received Communion and prayed throughout the Mass and there was not one second when you were not in my thoughts/prayers. I have felt a mystical bond with you from day one. I still feel it and marvel at it. This song is the absolute coolest song of yours on this topic. It's just another one of your masterpieces but what stands out the most is your 'presence' in this performance. It's my favorite all time in that respect cause you just look so solid and badass! No other way to put it. Your confidence is staggering! "Yeah, I know you will..." Anyone can look at you and see that nothing on Earth can keep you from doing whatever you set out to do musically...I love the way you sing it! This performance is a masterpiece for the ages. So, tonight I'm going out to sing at an open mike for the first time here and then I'm gonna start playing the street regularly cause today I believe I can do it too...I don't care how much I make. Michelle Private: ‘Blue Sun’ ‘Twin Flames’ January 10, 2023 - Austin - Happy Birthday Shawn Colvin Blue Sun - I used to dream in colors now I dream only in blue since the rainbow came surrounding me with you it circled the sun it lasted all day I watched the colors run down into the sea till there was nothing left but eternal blue surrounding me with my vision of you encircling my heart a kaleidoscope of blue twin flames on the horizon singing our song in flashes that night twin souls as one voice singing along to that brilliant sight I shine on you you shine on me both of us are sacred bound by Divine light I’m bound to you you’re bound to me like deep blue is bound to the sea it was the last day of Saint Peter’s festival in Gloucester on the beach when the rainbow came so far out of reach with the colors of our dream a halo rainbow around the sun there to teach that nothing is as it seems except this love of many colors sent to us from above binding me to you many colors bleeding into one blue sun sinking not receding the color that will not run end I wrote this during ‘Occupy Boston’ and took the train down to Gloucester for the festival and while on the beach this phenomenon did occur. It lasted all afternoon and everyone saw it. I’ve never seen anything like that before or since. The book posited correctly I think that the ego interferes with our ability to perceive or ‘hear’ or ‘feel’ the gentle promptings of the Holy Spirit or other spiritual influences but when we get it out of the way we can be led to beautiful insights and realizations as I was led to realize that you are my guardian angel Shawn.
