My dad was in Vietnam and lost his leg over there. He came back to eventually fight another war for all the guys that got sprayed over there by testifying in DC before a House hearing that him and Tom Daschle were able to get approved. He also worked for the Vet Center and DAV. As I was growing up I was around countless war heroes and non combat vets. When you’re around that many you learn real fast that there are some vets that have integrity and others that don’t. And a few will lie straight to your face. As I got older my dad had a discussion with me about the men that lie. The discussion was about another vet’s life story so that discussion is irrelevant. It was around that time I realized how to listen more closely to what they say. People that have been in or around the military life for many years can start to smell the stink of rotting integrity pretty quickly when they listen. So like God instructs us, Let fools speak. I’ll continue to listen.
