Hello, friends! If you enjoyed the video and wanted to support my channel, I've just started a "Buy me a Coffee" (in my case it would be tea) page which I'll link here: buymeacoffee.com/shawnaexplores but please don't feel any pressure to, the fact you're here and watching already means so much to me 🥰

Wonderful place to visit! It has such nice views, churches and as you said, it's quite calm compared to the bustle of Edinbirgh in August. Your way of showing places you go is lovely, and the music is very relaxing. You can immerse in the landscape as if you were walking there. Thanks a lot for this virtual trip and have a great week! 😊

Loving this. I live not too far away and this makes me appreciate my area even more. I haven’t visited the bookshop yet but I’m keen to go soon. The cafe is lovely. My Grandfather was born and brought up in Stow his father worked on the railway which was called the Waverley Line at the time and you could travel directly to London on it. Behind you on the war memorial I could see my youngest great uncle’s name. 😢

Thank you so much for these lovely videos, Shawna. Stow looks like my kind of place. I’m disabled and in bed most of the time so it is absolutely wonderful to ‘visit’ places with you. I love beautiful places, gardens, books, tea, animals, etc. and I’m a fellow Scot too so I’m very happy to have found your channel. I hope you and your loved ones are keeping well 💐

Wonderful! Stow is just lovely! Such a charming & quaint wee Village with cute wee Houses, Shops & Buildings! The Bookshop, Post Office & Tea Room are really sweet! And your Lunches at the Tea Room looked yummy! Mmmm! St Mary's Church is also very rustic & charming as well! A delightful wee Church & in such a picturesque setting! The surrounding area there is very beautiful! As well as looking so peaceful & tranquil! Just a wonderful area to visit & to spend a relaxing day with your mum. I really loved the wee Shopping Bags you bought too. They are really cute & so unique! I have never seen such cute wee bags before. LOL. Thanks Shawna for sharing another sweet & delightful experience with us! Blessings to you & to your Mum!

My Mum lives down that neck of the woods, going there and getting away from Edinburgh, people and traffic for even a day just seems to mentally reset me. Talking of Mums i hope you are paying your Mum in plenty cups of tea and cake for her camera work :)

My goodness Shawna, Stow really did look so lovely! And I loved how so much of video was just exploring Stow and being immersed in how picturesque it is 😍 And the (probably) farm dogs! The dogs you sent me the pictures of made it into the video! 🙌 They looked so sweet in the video too ❤ I’m so happy you and your mum had such a nice day to Stow.

Come a little further on A7 using the x95 bus you'll reach Selkirk. Wait til after Easter when Courthouse and Museum will open again. Take a walk round the Haining loch just off the Square. 1st Saturday of the month is the Farmers' Market.

I love your videos so much and I especially love seeing you and your mum enjoying some lovely time together. I miss my mum terribly. She would have loved to see these places. I also love that most of your videos include a bookshop or book haul and a nice cup of tea. Totally my thing! I’m doing a tour of Scotland soon followed by a week in Edinburgh (coming from Australia) and your videos are giving me lots of suggestions for things to do and see - especially if I need to escape the city for a day.

That’s so kind of you, thank you 😭 I’m very sorry about your mum, my mum’s had health scares this past year and it’s made me confront just how much I’d miss her ❤️ I hope you have the most amazing visit to Scotland, please do drop me a message here or on Instagram if you have any questions and I’ll try to help!

Mrs Dalloway is a slightly challenging read at start until you get used to the narrative style, but it's one of my favourites! Your copy is stunning, I really hope you enjoy it!
@ShawnaExplores5 ай бұрын
I’m glad you said that as I was a little stuck after reading the first few pages but I will persevere and maybe listen to the audiobook to help with the narrative style! 😊

@@ShawnaExplores I don't blame you! If I hadn't been reading it for school I likely would have put it down, but now it's one of my all time favourite novels. Good luck! 😊

When the railway re-opened it was not originally intended to stop at Stow. There was uproar on the first train when the announcer said" The next station is STO" as in England. A shame the site of the old hotel, a fire IIRC, is still wasteland.

I’m so glad they decided to reopen a station in Stow in the end! Funnily enough a friend from the Borders mentioned this story to me and I keep saying Stow like Wow to ensure I don’t pronounce it wrong 🙊

New viewer here from Oklahoma. I loved that the bookshop had the little coupons to help people buy a book. Probably a ridiculous question: why do you have to press a button to get on a train?
@ShawnaExplores5 ай бұрын
Hello from Scotland 👋🏼 Isn’t it a wonderful idea, I hadn’t heard of book coupons before. Ah yes, it’s just so the door opens. When the button lights up you push it or the door won’t open - perhaps to keep the train warmer in winter? 😊 do train doors in the US open automatically?
@shallowdeep285 ай бұрын
@ShawnaLaw that is sensible. I've not been on many trains, but the ones I've been on open automatically. Y'all have a better way.😊😊
