Hi Shawn, IMHO, THIS IS YOUR BEST VIDEO EVER! With a BS in Kinesiology (Hi Mu) and as a PT I have always admired your functional approach and the biomechanical knowledge in your instruction. All of which makes perfect sense. Your "10 Commandments" on one video is pure gold for me. (oh yeah...and the fact that Sav/Mu are fellow LHers is a bonus.) Thanks Shawn. You and the "kids" work very hard to make us better golfers.

Hey Shawn. Awesome video. For those that are into feedback utilizing technology, I just finished a practice session with my 3D motion capture software & ever swing I made using Shawn's teaching, produced perfect kinematic sequencing & more rotational speed thru the ball than I have ever had! This is it in a nutshell folks. For me the key is the relaxed pause at the top of the back swing. That heavy feeling of arm/club unit at the top gives you the green light to start the downswing (kinetic chain takes over). The heft will feel like you are swinging 2 clubs. Your balance and timing will be spot on. Also much less taxing on the body. Well done Shawn!!! Cheers.

Thank you for the great comment Greg! So nice to hear from you; Still in Richmond Hill?
@gregshannon23145 ай бұрын
So glad I revisited this video. It’s amazing how each point supports the other. I find a low strain level on the takeaway anchors a better balanced takeaway giving you the green light to proceed. The rest of the points follow suit. The on range video showing Freddie, Vjay and Ernie is a good example. Without feeling balanced and anchored the thought process changes to survival/hit ball mode. Feeling the weight of the arm/club unit is key to know when the time is right to use it to your advantage.

Always enjoy your insights. Regarding the grip, do you have any videos describing HOW the grip the club? Would it be strong grip with square face or strong grip with closed face?
@golflessons Жыл бұрын
You bet! Starts with placing the hands properly on the club with “grip and wrist hinge shawn clement” a real oldie but goodie; then see “knife the grip shawn clement” and then see “best video on grip ever shawn clement” and “most important video on grip ever shawn clement” and for the APPLICATION in real life, THIS REQUIRES A DYNAMIC APPROACH. See “predict perfect contact and direction shawn clement” and “”hit a honkin’ draw to hit straight shawn clement” On our premium channel at www.wisdomingolfpremium.com the titles are “grip” “grip part 2” and “important grip update” and then see the applications dynamically with all the “release” videos including the “important release update”, and “draw fine tuning” and “fade fine tuning” which show you how to combine the grip-clubface relationship for creating the ball flight plan you want. ENJOY!!

Hey Shawn - how do you place your elbow especially the right one for a right handed player - do you point it towards the ground or just let them fall loose

Hey Joel! There is a great video called “most important video on grip ever shawn clement” that shows how the rest of the body lines up towards the target in relation to the stronger grip; on our premium channel, it is called “important grip update” and you want to combine that with the “football drill series” which is specific to the trail or right elbow “position” at address and during the swing as well as the “hammer drill”. Super clear and you won’t look at the golf swing the same way after that!
@michaelgenovese8501 Жыл бұрын
Great video, Shawn! Regarding using the strong grip, you said the left hand should be placed where 3 or 4 fingers show. What about where to place the right hand?
@golflessons Жыл бұрын
Under the left; parallel to it in general
@maeu59 Жыл бұрын
@@golflessonsbefore the second pendulum on the downswing, your right wrist is facing up and then you say it wraps around the ball, it seems like a last second roll but doesn’t that require timing? I’ve seen you demonstrate this with a hockey stick or the jai alai basket, but they have curves. Why not let the wrist work with extension and flexion keeping it parallel to the spine with no roll or wrap as in a throwing motion.

Great lessons Shawn. A question. Should I grip strong with the club face square? I guess so. Thanks for the video

You have good vertical control, you seem to lift up slightly to the top and come down slightly and back up slightly as your club head pass through the ball. Am I correct?

It must just be me, but I find it painfully difficult to follow your practice swings when you're saying one thing but doing another.. simply because your takeaway is super steep and NOT on plane in any way. There are moments where your practice swing stays on plane back and through but your full swing definitely isnt. I know everyones "feel" is different, but visually, I find you difficult to follow... then your test subjects are always lefties which also throws a wrench in watchability. For me anyway :) Surely its just me... LOL
@frankferrara406 Жыл бұрын
I agree- why such a severe upright swing?
@ag358 Жыл бұрын
Yea, it's just you, jack Nicholas has an upright swing, he also had the longest straight drive in the history of major winners. In 1963 jack won the pga long drive championship with a 341 yard drive, steel shaft and a little wooden head. Several recent contests 2018,2019 would've lost to jacks persimmon head driver. There is an article showing how upright is right.
@todd7706 Жыл бұрын
The way he cocks his wrists with a cupped left wrist at the top lends itself to a more upright swing, IMO.
@pastramiking6874 Жыл бұрын
The principles still apply. It's like transposing music
@ag358 Жыл бұрын
Shawn can hit it over 300 yards with driver from both sides of the ball, a cupped wrist at the top is not a problem, Bobby jones with many in the golf community has him as a top 3 of all time cupped at the top. What matters is through the strike zone and shawn like bobby is perfect.
@SL0409 Жыл бұрын
The old adage of "swing your swing" has never been more relevant with this guy You could get 50 golfers and all 50 will swing differently yet they'll be good at golf The only thing that matters in golf is how the club face makes contact with the ball and however you swing is irrelevant if you're hitting the ball right Shawn clearly knows alot about golf, is a very good golfer yet his swing looks absolutely horrendous
@golflessons Жыл бұрын
