Apple Cider Vinegar 3 spoons per day mixed to the water, Vitamin D3, K2, Nattokinase, no sugars or carbs almost at all. I have lost 20kg (106kg--> 86kg, male 185cm). Next month I have been 1 year totally sober. This is the longest time during my whole life that my weight has stayed within 1kg difference the whole year. I do 20-24h fasting 1-2 times per week and it is excellent for my body and mind. What made me to do it and keep it up? Terminal cancer. Still here, nothing visible with contrast agent anymore. People in America eat processed, packaged, canned food, engage in tobacco and alcohol use. They refuse to take responsibility for themselves. Cancer is a great teaching tool because people choose to eat unhealthy. If you eat Indian curd everyday not American yogurt, one will never get cancer. Americans do not care about immune system. In Kerala, Curd is our main prebiotic. Americans have never cared about obesity, heart disease, Dementia and Parkinson’s Disease. People do not make an effort to get well. They rely on there doctors for everything because they choose to remain brainwashed with there health ideology. It is pathetic why Americans do not fast, yet make excuse after excuse not to get well. You can fast for two months and be healthy.

That's a good way to go about it. I wish everybody would start improving their health that way. I believe measures like this and adding some exercise to the equation may be enough for most of us. No unnecessary, expensive multivitamin supplements may be needed. Ag1, I don't know. If you don't have any documented vitamin or mineral deficiencies it may be totally unnecessary.

Congratulations Shawn! Ive been following you for several years and what you do is truly an inspiration! I'm 56, Blood pressure 2 years ago was also in the 140's over low 90's while on 40 mg of Lisinopril. I started using cayenne pepper powder, 8 oz of water, and a tablespoon of raw unfiltered unpasturized local honey a year and a half ago religiously everyday, started more of a carnivore diet, and increased my activity level as much as I could due to severe disc issues but today im 12 days, 100% off my BP meds, cholesterol meds, and over the last 4 months have lost 42 lbs. My resting BP is averaging 111/68 and active BP is averaging 121/74. I've been telling my Dr for two years that I will get off of all my meds because im not feeding the big pharma family anymore. I've taken my health into my own hands with diet, being more active as well as more natural ways to fix health rather than the big pharma band-aid that's thrown at us. Our food system is broken. Getting back to whole foods, healthy choices, and good clean living has been clouded over for so long but many are finally waking up and seeing the big picture and how to fix it ourselves. Great Job shawn!

Its not what You eat really but how much energy body has to heal itself. I rather think that is the biggest secret in this world that the big pharma does not want us to know. Body is a self healing organism. We just have to let it do it. So the lighter the diet the better. Im plant based and that also let my body to heal. So yess many ways but the logic is always the same- keep it simple and as light as possible. I have just never liked meat personally. But works for some yess

My husband and I sold his house right outside of Columbus, OH last May, and moved to the mountains of South Carolina. We are completely out of debt, except for financing a small shed for his tools, lawn mowers, and such. This is my year of cleansing my diet/body. I am buying 1/2 a steer that is completely grass fed and NO hormones. We only eat fresh eggs and raw milk, buttermilk, and i will be learning how to make fresh butter soon. I have planted the largest garden I've ever had in my life as well. I am on a medication that i am going to slowly wein myself from to see if i even need it any longer. It's for migraine headaches. I quit smoking 6 months ago after smoking for 40 years. I haven't lost any weight yet, but my blood pressure is so much better. All the changes i have made have already had a positive impact on my body. I am breathing better, feeling better, and thinking a little clearer as well. A lot of it i attribute to your channel, and a few others that recommend not just self sustainability, but cleaner living overall. Thank you, Shawn, for all of the excellent advice and examples you provide for us every time you put out a video.

I stopped drinking soda, all seed oils, anything processed and also added collagen to my diet. I felt a big difference in just a few weeks. I later an AG1 like product (i also tried AG1) and by Dec i was virtually pain free. unbelievable difference. We bought a little bread maker (have you read the ingredients label of bread lately?) and haven't eaten store-bought bread/buns since December. Last month I started to follow more of a carnivore diet and dropped 20lbs. At soon-to-be 58, this is truly the best i have felt in a decade if not longer. The best thing anyone can do is drop the soda/processed drinks and anything with seed oils in them. The soda was hard but it made a huge difference.

Just stop beating this happened to me in January a mile off the road in a wood getting logs with small 🚜 WD Allis Chalmer and 180 Allis Chalmer. My brother took me to the hospital. My heart stopped beating when I down a tree. I beat on my chest to get it back 180 over 80 by the time I got to the hospital. My heart rate was over 200, and I had never seen so many wires and pads ready to zap my heart .They shot my heart with adrenaline, which caused my heart to level out . I thank the nurses and doctors who saved me that day, and most I thank God for being there.

It also reduced my husband's joint pain and inflammation. My allergies have disappeared and my plantar fascitis was gone within 2 weeks. My mental clarity sharpened and my sleep improved. My husband lost 25 lbs and I lost 15lbs effortlessly! The 2 most informative books we read were "The obesity code" by Dr. Jason Fung and "Fast, Feast, Repeat" by Gin Stevens. It has changed our lives and we haven;t once felt deprived as it is "time restricted eating" and not "restricted eating." As an extra benefit, your food preps will last longer as well!

I don't smoke nor drink anything alcoholic but I drink water, coffee, tea & juice. I have a son who will be 46 yrs old in October & a son who just turned 44 yrs old in March. I haven't seen them since 2012 because I don't have a vehicle & live near Elliot Lake. With rent ridiculously over priced ALL OVER CANADA, it's impossible to move due to the high costs so I'm where I am. I've looked. People are charging $1000 to $2000 a month for a bedroom not an apartment. Shawn - consider yourself having been blessed to be where you are & able to do the things you do. I'm excited to be able to see all the projects you get to do this year now that the nicer weather is somewhat here. I'm still looking for a new place to move but it has to be within my budget not someone else's. Staying healthy is one of the most important things you can do - without it you can do nothing. STAY WELL & enjoy the beautiful weather to come😊 Canadian life - gotta love it. 🇨🇦⭐️ Present Canadian government - 🤮 😊

Shawn, I wouldn't think you would have a problem with high blood pressure with the amount of fish and wild game you consume, but then you mentioned alcohol that would explain some issues. I tried AG1 but it gave me stomach destress. I recently researched and found that our processed bread, flours have been stripped of the vitamins, bran, omega oils and fiber our ancestors had prior to 1910 when big grain mills removed the valuable nutrition for the sake of convenience, because the flour had to be used in a short amount of time once it was milled. I purchased a grain mill to grind whole wheat berries to be able to get the vitamins and fiber we need to sustain life, and for storage. A hand mill would would provide if any electricity outages and of course you can bake on open fire, in a Dutch oven . In Ancient times grain was the staff of life! I don't really put too much thought into my diet though if I'm being honest so that's probably my issue, I think its time to change that lol. Also an early Happy Birthday to you Shawn! Had a TIA scare back on Dec. 26th. Cut out all junk. No alcohol, soda, added sugar. Nothing out if bag or box. No vitamins just good lean meats and all organic fruits and vegetables. I average 1 gallon of water on most days. Walk an average of 1.5 miles most days, down 32 pounds as of yesterday. BP at the doctors office Friday was 119/79. I'm 55 years old and haven't felt this good in years. Keep it up Shawn. Kind of sounds like Gary Brecka influenced diet.

Suffered from severe joint pains, acute frozen shoulder attacks. My natural path pointed out the toxic buildup from wheat, sugar, coffee even chocolate and how they affected the liver and how the overflow of constant toxic intake went to my joints. Eliminating these foods made such a difference. I now know that eliminating offensive foods is the number 1 protocol to better health. And that supplementation is pointless unless those toxic foods are eliminated. It’s also a slow process to better health. We cannot expect overnight success when offending foods have been in our diet for years damaging our organs. Glad you have found a path to better health and especially moved to eliminate the meds from your life. I watched my father decline almost immediately from the typical geriatric cocktail doctors prescribe. These days you’re an anomaly if your not swallowing at least 5 different meds at the same time. In these pharmaceutical driven times, it’s up to us to educate ourselves on their side affects and instead, live as nature intended.

I turned 57 about a month ago and in all that time I have been fortunate. I think I have taken antibiotics twice in my life when I caught a bad flu but other than that I have been basically drug free. I take no medications, rarely get headaches, or other issues that others my age seem to have all the time. I usually prefer to heal myself by changing my diet, sleep, and exercise. Every now and again I slip and have a few too many drinks with friends or stop regular exercise and my body lets me know and I have to get myself back on track. I do not have a perfect diet, not even close, and I could stand to lose a few pounds, but for the most part I try and take care of myself and I listen to my body and let it guide me.

I’ll be 54 as well in 23 days from now, a landscaper/gardener, and fairly healthy, but age does catch up to everyone eventually. I went strict carnivore last fall. The effects were amazing. I too suffered from joint pain, especially in my feet and toes. The inflammation causing this subsided drastically in just a couple days and over the following few weeks. I too lost ten pounds, great blood pressure, belly fat started disappearing, depression and anxiety gone, psoriasis receded completely, energy level way up, focus and mental clarity just amazing…I have incorporated blueberries, nuts, broccoli, mango, honey, etc. occasionally. I have also slipped up with some ice cream and blueberry pie, and some other unhealthy sugars, and felt it immediately. Inflammation, pain, and depression mainly. I will try and get back on track, and stay there as best as I can, but I won’t deprive myself of some things I love forever. I’ll just do the best I can. But I am a carnivore believer. Wish I could hunt and fish the way you do. That must be amazing. I can somewhat where I am, and I need to do it! Anyway, good luck and keep strong!👍❤️

I have very minor heart arrhythmia which is made worse by consuming anything with caffeine. The list may surprise you. While my condition wasn't life-threatening, it did make me physically uncomfortable from time to time, so around 15 years ago I switched to decaf coffee. I made the switch slowly, knowing that caffeine withdrawl can be brutal. I stayed with decaf for about 5-6 years before I quit using coffee entirely and switched to herbal teas, zero caffeine. I've been 100% caffeine free for about 9 years now and it has made a big difference in my overall health, both physical and mental.

Hey Shawn, it's great that you are doing well health wise, but using a commercially produced supplement to get there is not very self reliant. Do you have a 10 year supply of AG1 in your pantry? Finding a more natural solution that you can produce on your land would be better. And at $80 a month, most people are not going to consider this as an option.

As I mentioned, I generally don’t need supplements on this diet, but when travelling it’s harder to eat optimally. I also have much better access to good food, clean water, fresh air, etc than most people. I’ve never met anyone who can’t afford to prioritize health, there’s always something they’re spending money on unnecessarily in lieu of healthy food and/or supplements. I can provide my family and me with enough survival food but now I’m turning my attention to thriving - living optimally

@@ShawnJames1 I have been following you for years and find this very confusing to say the least. Your whole YT channel is based on self-reliance and helping people to be self-reliance, including food; Yet now you promote a product, which is not only quite controversial and very pricey, but goes against what you try to get through. It does deny the whole point of your channel and what you do here. Why we should care about self-reliance - growing our own food, do all that hard work when we can “buy health in a package”?… Should not we get all we need from the food we grow? Is not that also a reason why you do what you do? Seems not genuine at all.

@@johanhoon2515I believe the key word here is “supplement”. Shawn also mentioned that he is not attributing his success to it, but says it helps him meet his own personal goals and repeats that he’s not necessarily recommending this for everyone. Just like not everyone needs to build their own cabin in the woods but can glean many important lessons from this channel. I understand the potential frustration from a product plug, but I think anyone who has followed this channel for a good amount of time understands that what Shawn does and the message he speaks is a net positive.

After weeks of lemon water > you will crave foods that are high in the minerals & vitamins your body blood chemistry needs. Happy Birthday, Shawn... and thanks for posting this video. I was eagerly awaiting to hear more about the dietary changes you've made. I tried the Patreon thing, but it wasn't working for me, so thanks for posting to youtube. Overall, it looks like I've been doing basically the same things for the last year or so already, which is encouraging. I find a wholistic, multi faceted approach works the best... diet, deep breathing, cold immersion therapy, yoga, meditation, cardio, heavy weights, vitamin & mineral supplements, natural movement... that sort of thing. Because of my lactose and gluten intolerance, I cut bread, pasta, and dairy (and excess sugar) out of my diet last year, and within a couple months I dropped 20 pounds naturally, without trying anything else, and I've stayed at my current weight since. I think it was the empty carbs. Now I need to find a cure for Fibromyalgia... Thanks again for posting this. All the best to you! ~Tim

To clean out your arteries and joints, drink distilled water, iodine, but also bromelain, which is the active enzyme in pineapple. It dissolves everything built up and calcifications in the body as does distilled water. It only removes the INORGANIC form of minerals, we need out minerals to be utilized properly to be organic in form meaning a plant takes it up from the soil, and through photosynthesis, turns it into an organic form.

Congratulations, Shawn, for working on your health, by changing your diet, and getting rid of high blood pressure medication. What I've heard from people in Britain and Holland, is that this medication causes unwelcome side effects. As a holistic foodconsultant, and eternal student of gardening, growing, working in marketgardens, since I was 23 years old, I've chosen organic food, preparing it at home. No alcohol, no extreme sweet snacks or sugary drinks, choosing wholefood shops to buy my food. Changing your diet and nurture yourself with real fresh food and drinks is the best way to go, I believe. Pure, organic quality, for which you're wonderfully prepared, in your Self Reliant lifestyle. I've changed my diet, in early July, by eating far less carb than I did before, and far less bread. Less sugar in my coffee, less milk, replaced by almond milk or oatmilk. After 1 month I'd lost 6 kilogram and lost 1 more in the last month. I've had a strange experience with a blood pressure device that was gone wrong. Pharmacies here offer a chance to measure one's blood pressure, a self-help service, and the device didn't work as it should've done! I found a measurement of 112 and was shocked! I wanted to check my bloodpressure because I experienced extreme bloodsugar level jumps up and down. This was right after a period of extreme stress due to having subtenants in the home that weren't suitable, fouling the place. I immediately checked my bloodpressure again at my doctor's and was relieved to find it in good shape, as always. With a 60 heartrate, excellent. But, since I already had dug into diets for a diabetes-2 cure, I decided to try out a new diet. For a few years I felt that losing 7 kg. was better, returning to my comfortable weight of 74 kg. My doctor advised me to take a bloodtest, not because of expected trouble, but because I've never before done a bloodtest, in 73 years. My health was fine! No worries at all. Now I eat many vegetables, salads, an apple a day, half a banana with oat porridge in the morning. Using about half the amount of cane sugar that I used to put in coffee, tea, and desserts. I'm fond of brown rice as a staple for my warm meals, but I've removed it mostly, apart from about a tablespoon in my dinner. I cook brown rice, or millet, in a small heat resistant bowl, placing it in the center of a pan with water, vegetables, beans, etc. soaking the rice first for 1 night, and let it simmer in the pan until it's done. In the fridge, such a small amount is enough for 1 week (for a 1 person household) and the remaining content goes in the oatporridge. It's fortunate, that nowadays, many crackers are made of lentils, chickpeas, and other non-wheat products. Also spaghetti shows up made of lentils, and soba (buckwheat) spaghetti is glutenfree, although high on calories. Seaweed is also used in spaghetti, nowadays, turning it green. Rich on minerals. As a maintenance dose for my health I use 4 drops of CDS in some water, before sleep. 🖐👩🌾

Shawn, I pray you continue to find what works for you to have great health in the years to come. We have bioindividuality and have to figure out what works best for our own body. Happy Birthday! What we eat has a tremendous impact on our bodies. Back in 2015 my health was at an all time low. Medical system offered very little help in finding root causes. I didn't want to be on medicines either. I began researching on my own and found ketogenic lifestyle. That became keto-vore and then carnivore. I feel amazing when I eat ketovore. Less than 20 grams of carbs is my daily goal. I am someone that does NOT feel well on vegetables. Almost destroyed my gut microbiome because of IBS and doctors saying "eat more fiber". For some people that is the worse advice. Meat is my main source of fuel. I reversed diabetes, insulin resistance, autoimmune issues, improved my cholesterol (HDL went up, Triglycerides went down), improved leaky gut issues and increased my overall energy. The bonus was losing weight. Any time I increase my carb intake for a significant amount of time, the weight, diabetes, etc., all returns. What I was eating caused all my issues! I found my root cause and could do something about it! Dr. Jason Fung says giving insulin to a diabetic is liking giving alcohol to an alcoholic. He is a Canadian nephrologist and has written several books about diabetes.

My husband and I have just started the fresh milled flour journey. Highly, highly nutritious, wheat berries are loaded with vitamins and minerals. And many with gluten issues can eat foods made with fresh milled flour. Health in America has plummeted since white flour and mass milling in the early 1900’s. That and the switch to seed oils over tallow and real lard. Hoping our blood work shows great improvement in the coming months like others I’ve read about have improved. Looking into AG1.

It may seem counterintuitive, but some level of body fat in older age confers survival. Not obesity, but 15-18% body fat. If you fall ill, fat will help you survive that illness. Food for thought.
