KD Lang started her career as a tribute singer of Patsy Cline. The band was called KD Lang and the Reclines.

KD Lang was a backup singer for Roy Orbison and Friends: A Black and White Night, which was also filled in with a lot of the rock greats like Jackson Browne, Bruce Springsteen, Bonnie Raitt and many others as Roy's all-star band; an amazing concert film.

Her idol was Patsy Cline and she did a great cover of her song Write Me In Care Of The Blues. A great live version on The Johnny Carson show.

Like you read, Roy & K.D. Lang sang this together. There is a video of them doing this song. It’s also very powerful. Also, K.D. Lang was one of the backup singers with Roy during the “Black & White Night” concert. k d started out as a country singer her influence was Patsy Cline among others her music was called Cowpunk but she called it torch & twang music she wasn’t accepted by the country music establishment as they thought she was making fun of the music she was very quirky but such fun her version of three cigarettes in a ashtray is fabulous a few suggestions Turn Me Round, Angel With a Lariat Got the Bull By the Horns Bopalena, hoping you will react to more k d she is fabulous with her band The Reclines ❤❤ the song from her first acting role in Salmonberries is Barefoot is amazing her wolf howls are spine chilling xx

I have never seen her in solo concert.. I did see her with Tony Bennett at Greek Theatre in LA. Fell in love Immediately. What a voice, what a deliverance of songs from his catalog. She killed it!! She had me crying. Felt so alive. Thank you kd lang. I was so happy, so complete.

I'll give you one more unique and dynamic version of that song. "Llorrando" was part of the movie, Mulholland Drive and it is sung entirely acapella and in Spanish. I hope you can check it out either personally for yourself or on the channel to introduce others to it who may not be familiar. Love your genuineness. She is magnificent vocalist artist. She sing the same song with different interpretations. She’s done Crying several ways. Her So in Love a Cole Porter song is magnificent. Miss Chaterlane but basically anytime she sings it’s an event . She sang with four older country vocalist doing country classics , also great

If the spirit moves you, take a listen to Don McLean's version of Crying. Its incredible as well. k.d. lang's voice is sublime! It was love at first sound all those years ago hearing Constant Craving. And she's a vision of loveliness in the video for Miss Chatelaine. 😍

KD got her start in Country music and people started comparing her to Patsy Cline, which is the ultimate compliment. I don't know how she felt about that because Patsy was Country royalty. But what a voice right?!?

You may have reacted to it already but Roy Orbisons is the GOAT. KD would agree, despite her noble effort. A music critic who heard him live told me Orbisons is like church.

I don't know if this is helpful, but I recently read one of Michael J, Fox's books about his experiences with Parkinsons. There are some details about his various therapy and treatments, some of which greatly reduced his tremors and other symptoms. He has acted in several films and TV series since his diagnosis. This cover of Crying, although written by Roy Orbison, is more a cover of Don McLean’s wonderful hit version of the early 70’s. Orbison said McLean’s version was better than his own.
