Finally broke down and ordered a predrive today. I had a cali76 and recently updated it from the big box to the compact deluxe, so now my core clean tone will be guitar > Cali76 > Predrive eventually to a handwired AC15. Stupidness in the best possible way.

Hi Shawn Thanx so much for all the demos you provide. I would love to see the process of how you produce the demos. Right from choosing the style your gonna play rock, blues, etc To getting the drums to sound the way you do. To recording multiple guitars and Mixing You get great sound in your recording the final mix is stellar. Would make a great tutorial maybe spread it over multiple videos. There are a ton of guitar player like me that lack the knowledge of how to get great recordings. You got it nailed dude. Thanx John

Great demo man.... Some people says its first chain. Now i use fuzz in my first chain. So if i use predrive, how about the chain? Fuzz and than predrive or predrive and than fuzz.. thanks for your advise...

+Joko Hanggono I know that in general most would put the pre drive first in the chain but in all honesty do what sounds great to you. If the Pre Drive sounds better to you after the Fuzz than keep it that way. :)

this is off subject..but how do you set your Wampler Ego Comp? and would you ever consider doing a demo of the Carl Martin AC Tone Single? really like that pedal.

+NNash92 I'm all over the map with my Ego Comp. I generally keep it set with very light comp. It's not used as an on all the time comp.

as I said in another demo I wish to see this demo with your divided by 13 because your Shur as already a little bit of gain , I think it`s better to do a demo with an 100% clean sound , anyway we love your demos.

Hey Shawn, could you comment on how you use the volume knob with the Predrive? Do you set the Volume at, say 7 or 8, and then crank up to 10 for a more solo tone using the amp's distortion? Or, do you tend to keep the guitar volume fixed when you use these pedals?

+kevin7jazz Hey Kevin, it really depends on what i'm doing and which guitar I'm using. I will say that I tend to leave the guitar cranked more than not and just use pedals.

+Shawn Tubbs Thanks! Can you comment on your /13 setting? Since the tone we hear is a combination of the whole chain, I'd be interested in knowing how you gain stage. PS. these are some of the most useful product demos I've seen--and I watch way too many.....

+kevin7jazz I think i'm using the Suhr Badger 30 for this vid and I ran it a little dirtier than I normal would for an overdrive pedal because I want to show what the pre drive could do just pushing the amp as apposed to another overdrive pedal. I would have dialed my D13 had I used it for this demo quite the same.

+Danny Blau that does make a lot sense, the more I've been using this pedal and the pettydrive which I have as well has allowed me to experiment. The predrive preamp side is so subtle without the boost. The eq section is the most dramatic feature that allows you to shape the sound. I'm running my sp comp in between the predrive and the pettydrive right now. I will use the boost on the predrive as an emergency boost if I'm not getting enough in my ears durning a song or a lead part.

+Danny Blau okay yeah I have a Keeley c4 that I will try running in front of the predrive. I'm running it after my drives with a very clean setting on the comp. I do get some squash but it does cut some dynamics this way. I would love to try that Cali76 it's hard to pull the trigger on comps in this price range. Thanks
