Andis Slimline Pro Li Listen before you buy.
This is one of the things in my life that I have a love/hate relationship with. Let me know how you feel about this trimmer.
What's your favorite trimmer?

so basically.... the slimline pro li is a good clipper. just the switch?

Man the Slimline Pro Li is an Amazing trimmer, even with the switch problem... I could just be the kind of person who is hard on the plastic switch that they put on the trimmer... I have started putting them in the stand to charge that keeps them out the draw bumping into other clippers when not being used... I think this will make the switch last, if not just last longer... Man thanks for taking the time to watch and even more for taking the time to leave a comment... It really means a lot... Thanks Texas... you made my day... may yours be Blessed & Safe Brother...

Shaw Speaks no problem man. i cut my own hair and i had the andis t outliner and mannnnn it didnt even last long i couldnt even do an edge up on myself and they wasnt even cutting bald or NOTHING and theyd leave red marks. im just trying to find something that hits ans cuts bald and i can finally do my edge ups crisp cause im tired of having to bald my hair for messing it up cause the clippers wont hit. i always wanted to be a barber but never went to barber school but i been cutting my own hair since i was like 10 lol

Texas, man I understand. I wish I could give you a magic bullet (clipper/trimmer) that would be the end all to your pain, but let’s face it... when most not all clipper manufacturers went to making Cordless clippers they sacrificed build quality. Kind of no way around that. I been cutting hair since I was 10 as well. The only thing that will make you more comfortable with any clipper is using it. It don’t matter the brand. That’s why I like these little trimmers they cheap. Just like the price. I look at it as getting more for your money. They are disposable hitter to me. Lol burn phones of the barber world. Lol much Respect brother

I have the same slimline pro li x3, the first one my charger was the issue. Second pair, just the switch broke, i didn’t send them back I just used them without the switch for a while. Thanks your video helped me decide. My corded Andis T-Outliners don't work in this country even though the voltage for my house has been "converted" to 120 (step down transformer does work either).
@shawspeaks8252
@shawspeaks8252 4 жыл бұрын
it's because of the Frequency overseas its 220-240 here its 110-120 but the Freq is 60hz here and 50hz there. something that is meant to run on 60hz sounds horrible on 50hz. I had a converter when I lived in Germany and Afgan my clippers ran so loud I just went out and bought a cheap pair of 220 clippers. never even knew the name. I just could not deal with the noise. I bought dual voltage photo studio lights there just because I didn't want to have to carry a converter everywhere. now I wish I would have saved the money and just sold the converter when I left. lol I learned so many costly mistakes around voltage...

I guess bro what it all boils down to Andy’s has got it down to where they could get a hook on your pockets so if you’re going to constantly buy and spend your money on that type of quality then I’ll take your money too but it was still an awesome voice of opinion. I am now in the ball head club so I cut my own hair but I wish there were more barbers professional like you that care about customers as opposed to just pushing back hairline and cutting peoples skin so much respect to you and may God continue to bless you in your profession I speak increase To you bro. Bless up.

James I understand your speaking of increase and it is much appreciated. That is the way I live my life. Thank you for taking the time to watch my video, and even more for taking the time to leave such a detailed comment. I just want to say when it comes to these clipper companies... yes they have us over a rail... just like the phone market... they make little improvements look like major perks and they seem to choose that over build quality no matter the brand. Pick one lol they all have their down side... the biggest one to me is price. Just between me and you... the Outliners are starting to grow on me... they have lasted longer than I would have given them credit. But they are new to the market still so thats not saying a lot... man my bad I comment like you... I just gave you my whole next video... lol man much respect and thank you for taking the time out your day to reach out to me... Much Respect James you a solid guy. Stay Safe

I have three words for you addiction by design. I think if we can get away from this rat race of the addiction of new designs we will probably be better off. Most things are not being designed for quality nowadays but more so for a quantity.But if we can find something to stick with that’s lasting and that’s gonna work long term by all means make it work for you my brother. Take for instance the automotive world from 61 two 2020 we went from steal cars to practically driving plastic on the road, we went from a long lasting craftsmanship to near plastic fiberglass cars on the road. Does that mean that Ford and the makers of Volkswagen had it wrong no but they were more so pushed into the rat race of just making things just for the sale of it to make money. But enough with my rambling just stay blessed brother.

Wait brother you have one of the best trimmers ever made in your hand... The T-outliner is one of the best trimmers ever made... only thing better to me it the GTX which i hate because the teeth on the blades break so easy... Man I would say the only down side to the T-outliner is the fact it has a cord... but when you give up a cord on the outliner you also give up the quite sound that comes with it... The slimline pro Li is a nice trimmer... I like it because it is the cheapest trimmer that cuts almost as well as a corded clipper... I am only waiting for a really good trimmer to come out without a cord... I don’t feel like it will be any time soon. Man thanks for watching get the blades that you have adjusted and the trimmers sound hit... I used those for almost 25 years before cordless ever came out... safe your money and learn to set your tools.... it will save you more money over the long run... The Li will need to be adjusted as well... Much respect and thank you for watching and leaving a comment... Stay Safe

Bro, thanks for sharing your professional opinion about the clippers. I do my beard trimming and lining at home, I currently have 3 Wahl clippers but the blades leave nasty cuts on my cheek, they cut too deep no matter how I try to limit the contact on skin, and as Blackman razor isnt good for me. Will Andis pro-line cut my beard sharp without cutting my skin? Thanks
@shawspeaks8252
@shawspeaks8252 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, BUT... They can be set to cut to close as well. I feel it is harder to set Andis clippers too close because they make both their cutting blade and stationary blade thicker. I feel Wahl makes theirs to thin. It's like 2 razors moving past each other. It can be a good thing in the right hands but I am much like you and for whatever reason Wahl Clippers, and Trimmers don't work well for me. I will tell you the one that I have found to have the smoothest cut on the skin is the Silver FX Trimmer. The Blades are very thick and very well rounded... I use those to set my bald guideline in just before I use my Shaver for a Skin fade. I also use them to shave my head. They just dont make as crispy of a line as the Slimline Pro Li... Not saying they cant be... I just know how to set a Slimline Pro Li in my sleep so thats why I use them and love them... I have had so many now and been using them for so many years. Its just a all around trimmer and it cost less. Not saying its the best. Just saying for the cost it is... It performs better than those that cost 4 times more... it just feels cheap! Sorry for being so rude... Thank you for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. They really mean a lot to me if you can't tell... Much respect and I hope that my comment answered your question... Stay tuned for some of my upcoming videos I use all these clippers in my videos you can see how they cut. I love my Slimline Pro Li all I gotta do is set the blade and I can get that trimmer to hit, the blades don't shift after a while (like wahl trimmers) they're not too sharp battery last a good while, cordless, under $60 (paid $50 for mines) definitely a trimmer I would recommend to anyone

Just bought 1. Its amazing. No need to keep rebuying...just get yourself a soldering iron. Learn to use it on your spare time. The switch is basic electronics knowledge. Learn abt the switch and how it works. Visit your local electronic shop and purchase a strong switch similar to it. You may have to solder then glue it on afterwards. Just learn abt it which is easy and fix or replace it with your new switch. Ive modified many weak products for example chinese products and turned them into many long lasting quality products just by simple soldering, glueing and other minor readjustments. Im no tech here im just a basic hobbyist. So when mines break im more than sure there is a way to fix it and im going do it and make it stronger and better

I will tell you this... Its not the tool, it’s the person to whom the tool is given... I be on some Deep thought lol What up Moe... Man no matter what you get you will have to adjust them a little to make them work well. I don’t like to talk price... to me the only people who talk price are those who have not made up their minds... that means you should wait. Think about price in relation to quality. When you say is it worth or a lot better... when you get it in the mail and open the box which would you be proud to be taking out the box? Which one would you be proud to show off to friends? Which one you feel like you would want to sit and detail clean after you are done and have sit on your counter for the world to see like? Find a clipper or trimmer you can be proud of and get the cut quality our of it and get back to me... I need you to let me know cause I aint found one yet... lol I will say this though things are getting better in the cordless world. Much better. Thanks for watching Moe... take it easy and be safe... Hello! How are you? I am from Argentina and this machine is highly recommended, the problem is that they have their problems in the future, since they last only 1 year or even less and their problems come, since here the dollar is too high to give you an idea in my currency I am paying the price of 3 of those for 1. So I am trying to find a trimmer that will last me at least about 2, 3 years with no problems as I am not in a favorable financial situation at the moment. What do you recommend me?
@shawspeaks8252
@shawspeaks8252 4 жыл бұрын
I think this is a good trimmer. I can not say it is worth paying 3 times the cost. It makes my whole reason for using them go out the window. I would not be able to give you my word that this clipper is going to last you. I choose to use them because I look at them as a just better than disposable. The price works for me because this is what I do for work. I can say they work well and if you care for them well they will last. I don't care for my tools, they are meant to work and thats what I use them for. I would look for another option if you are worried about price and reliability. Thanks for watching and even more for leaving a comment.

I agree these are the best trimmers out of the box period. But my andis trimmers keep losing teeth on the blade, just one tooth missing and they won't cut right and I can tell every time a tooth breaks on the blade...the metal is too brittle. I have went through 4 pair of andis so far and have replaced the blades and they do the same thing after a while or they begin to lose their charge. It is a love ,hate relationship. thanks....bro for your experience...I have yet to experience the switch breaking though. Lots of thanks, Chuck

I am saying as far a clippers I have not tried anything new in a long time. lol when you find something that works? I dont spend money just to spend money even when making videos... lol I have been using my same setup (Oster Octanes) for the past 5 years solid and I threw in a Masters cordless (TOOO LOUD) in the last 3 years. I dont use anything other than that no guards just 000-2 blade and clipper over comb. I wish I could be more helpful but I truly do not enjoy looking for new tools. I feel these days they all can do what they are meant to do its more what fits in your hand. I dont have a problem with anything not having power or cut time. Cords are quite, cordless is (game changing) lol I would say dont pick the cheapest or the most expensive and you wont be mad. I feel my set up is expensive but it is built to last. it has Lasted! also hard to use for most people. these days read reviews that is your best way to know what to expect. no/few reviews don't buy I could go on and on lol Much respect Deku

Great video. I've been trying to find some good quality facial hair trimmers after a Remington set I had for many years finally died. So in the last few months I've tried three different brands that I've found in stores in my area from around $25-$40... Another Remington, a Philips Norelco and a cheap set of Wahls. They are all absolutely terrible. Now it takes me forever just to clean up my neck and line up my beard and sideburns because I have to go over everything so many times to get all of the hairs cut as short as I can get them. It's been frustrating to say the least.. So now I'm doing research in hopes that I can start saving myself a lot of time shaving, especially since we found out that the wife is pregnant with twins.. Things are going to get crazy busy in a few months. Definitely not going to have time to dick around in front of the mirror for an hour... lol! But these Andis Slimline Pros are now probably at the top of my list based on reviews I've read and your video. I do have a couple of questions though, if you don't mind.. You said in the video that you don't zero gap them.. But do you still have to adjust the blade to get them to cut really close or do they cut close enough right out of the box? Also, do you have to use a blade setter to adjust the blades or can it be done without one? If you do use one, do you have a recommendation for a good one that works well with the Slimline Pro? Thanks man and keep up the good work!

You comment like me... Let me see if I can answer it all... Don’t mess with Cheap trimmers... seems better but bru you got a baby WOW (Twins)on the way! Congrats... Get something that will last... you might think you are saving money but when you see how much you will be replacing them you will understand after your first replacement why you made the wrong choice and will lead you to being forced to make the wrong choice again... Buy what you want when you get all the money . Zero Gap For the slimline Pro get the 10 sec blade setter on Amazon make sure you pick the right one... you don’t need a blade setter but it makes life easier... I did a video one the blade setter with this clipper check the Slimline Pro Playlist on my channel. Kyle I think I hit everything except to tell you thank you for watching... @@chrism364 yes don't do your front line if you have shorter hair. I would say do the temple down for a soft look. Neck line would be cool as well. I would be careful not to adjust the clipper to close. if to set to close you can damage the skin keeping the hair from wanting to grow in the area. Thats too much! Man sorry for being so rude... I just wanted you to see my point and not be distracted by everything else I am going to say... (Don’t Do it!) not for 100... (Nope)... I can’t even see 80... its a solid 50/60 clipper but not even 65 to me... its always something better... the best thing about this clipper is its cost... that it cuts so well for the cost... its still a cheap build... it dont feel well built at all... to me 60 is pushing it... but I really like how it cuts so if I get 6 months out of it that cost me 10 a month... I can live with that... Thanks for watching and even more for leaving such a great comment... I wish I would have put that in the video...

I know you said you don’t like wahl or anything that cuts to close but barber to barber you gotta do me a favor bro. Buy yourself a pair of the retro T cuts trimmer! I am heavy handed and I also don’t like to leave marks on customers so I don’t zero gap. I have a friend who put me on to these wahl trimmers and bro I have never had a pair of trimmers that I love like I love these! So get yourself a pair, their like $50 and they are my go to trimmers. Please get them and then do a review. Thanks bro

@@shawspeaks8252 has that ever happened to you? My slim liners barely hold a charge now & idk y. I wonder if me leaving them on the charger stand plugged in at the shop killed the batt.

@@A1ExtraSauce I have not had any problem with that. I leave all my clippers on charge while they are not being used. So every clipper pretty much spend more then half its life on the charger. they charge while i am not at work and 50 percent of the time while I am at work. I have only had a problem with the switch. These 2 have been repaired once before and they last between 6 months and a year each time. These 2 have been down a while. I keep saying I am going to send them back but, I hate dealing with customer service and checking the mail for things to come back. Tracking numbers and things coming up missing. Time is money to me, I feel I would lose more money taking them to the post office.

@shawspeaks8252
@shawspeaks8252 4 жыл бұрын
Ricky, me personally I would get the Babyliss one for what you are looking for. It doesn't cut the closest but if has the most comfortable blade on it out of all of them. less likely to cut or scratch yourself... if you are trying to get really close, I would get a shaver... its all about protecting the skin, my opinion... But thats all it is, Just my Opinion... Thanks for watching and even more for taking the time leave a comment. Much Respect and stay safe...

See that is subject to point of view... Build quality, cut quality and Time it will last, and worked on easily... Corded all day... Cord has it all only problem... IT HAS A CORD... lol that's the only drawback... lol that's it... They even way cheaper... lol Man a cord sucks that bad that we will through everything away to get away from that wall, and having to untwist cords all day between cuts... lol man a cord has cause me to break more blades, nick more heads, oh yeah and you know how many cords I have had break since I went to cordless... yup you guessed it right 1... The still have a cord to the charger... lol but to answer your question... Corded (WAS) way better... lol but I can't go back... lol I hate it... lol
