@@monolithe00 I mean Juji started Arm Wrestling with Devon Larratt at age 35/36 so Brian's not to far off his age. Plus I would imagine it would be easier to use things you learned in Strongman to your advantage. Brian is in crazy good shape for his age and size, despite the fact that at 400lbs he's not FAT he's just built really big. I mean can you imagine the amount of power just Big Shaw's arms have from what 2 decades of doing strongman events a lot of which requiring some form of arm strength. As Derek said, it would be hard for Brian to break his arm, and in order for Brian to break his own arm he would have to do some extreme movements not meant for the human body. I'd say his arm size might be a big of a disadvantage but look at guys like Devon Larratt and Jeff Dabe who both have MASSIVE arms.

I could not bench without my tendons failing on me for a few weeks. It was much later that I learnt about the importance of arm wrestling rehab along with how to actually practice properly on the table that it started to go away. My arm wrestling practice usually goes up to an hour now on the table with no pain and I can easily get like 4 to 5 days of solid table time with no pain. Like all things, you have to get used to it. For alot of people, they leave it cuz they can't bare the pain. But for me armwrestling is the most euphoric feeling in the world. Such a huge difference between Brian's questions and interaction with Derek, and Larry Wheels bored nodding when he had the best talent trying to teach him their ways! As a strongman rather than a glorified gymrat, Brian is focusing on the "movement", he wants to move like Derek does, rather than muscle his way out. he isn't in a hurry to showcase his strength. Usually when you get a "gym strong" heavier guy into a dojo, he keeps trying to muscle his way out of positions rather than learn to move correctly.

He actually gets you to understand it and doesn't interrupt your questions so you have time to think and work out what's bothering you. 2:Brian is gonna be amazing at this! I like Larry wheels but he's really impatient and can't wait to just use all his power on everything without taking the time to break it down and understand the details. I feel like Brian has a mind that will figure out every part of this thing and because of that his progress is gonna be so fast. Because he already has the strength, that's not something that's gonna be holding him back much, but because he has a sharp and deductive mind, he's not 'muscling' as much as others would. He's figuring it out and giving himself time and that's so much fun to see. He'll be crushing people really soon!

Good job, guys. Been waiting for so long to have some of the strongman guys blend in more to this sport. And who better than Big B to bring exposure to the sport of arm wrestling for strongman fans, and to the sport of strongman for arm wrestling fans! This was a great idea, Derek, well done.

Unlike most strength athletes when they get introduced to armwrestling, brian immediately understood how to stay tight and stay close to the table. only when he wants to pin he starts weird movements like internal rotation trying to muscle through. great potential!

I been watching Brian since your first strongman (I think you were 19) and I always enjoyed how humble he is. It’s not surprising that he/you have climbed to the top of your field time and time again. Seeing Brian learn something new like this he asks questions and takes to student roll to learn and sets such a great example of what a real champ is for all the kids to look up to. Great job Brian your a champ for so much more then just being the worlds strongest man.

It gets me so excited to see Brian at a table training in arm wrestling. I feel like I am watching the beginnings of something great! Levan's reign and the speculations on whom could ever possibly defeat him, Brian's name has been suggested before. If he were to keep at it and dive into the sport completely, he could be a truly dominating force!

Seems like it would definitely be a way for strongmen or powerlifters to keep training after their primes; the tendon strength and technique necessary to get good is something you can build up over your entire life
