You have so inspired me with your great tutorials. I went on my first calligraphy course a few weeks ago and the quote of the day from Eric Gill was "an artist is not a special kind of person rather every person is a special kind of artist". Anyway with your help I am finding my own special kind of artist! Thank you so much for your tutorials - raving fan from England.

I really appreciated this video because I am new to hand lettering and I am not very good at connecting the dots when people leave steps out because they are so familiar with what they are doing. I know it is hard to please everyone--the experienced and the beginners, but you helped me a great deal today.

Great videos, Shayda, I agree with other people that seeing the paper straight would make it easier for the viewers :) A tip: using a lightbox allows to skip one step as you can copy directly from the graph paper. If you draw a lot it's a great tool and a smart investment.

Very inspiring. However I can't help thinking the most obvious important word was completely ignored in this design: OTHERS. Whoever is happy will make OTHERS happy too. :)
@rachaelb91646 жыл бұрын
Outi Jalkanen yeah I would have made “will make” small and OTHERS big. I’m sure it’s hard to think straight when recording a video... a bit distracting lol.

Have you ever brainstormed your ideas on a white erase board instead of graph paper? Seems that the graph grids could even be added to the white board. Just a thought! Love your videos - WAY better than high school art classes!

@chelle7_myblueeyeddog7 жыл бұрын
Shayda Campbell, okay, thank you. I think maybe if you could do another one it would help. I did find watching you again helped, but then when I got by myself I couldn't do it. Or should I say I didn't like what I did. I watched your video a couple more times and it helped me finish. I have the most problem with layout. Font and fru fru come easier. Thank you for doing these!

for 58 years now I have used Rapids graph ink pens every day for all of my art projects and lettering. now, however in all the tutorials I've watched, I have yet to see anyone use them. is there a reason for this ( besides the cost of 30.00 each?) Do they bleed or anything? please let me know if you have any ideas. great video-thanks!

How do we transfer that to a computer to be printed? Is a scan good enough to keep the quility of the original?
@ShaydaCampbell7 жыл бұрын
Most scanners will give you very good quality. You can upload your scanned image into a program like photoshop to fix it up a bit if you like, but otherwise it will be fine for most casual purposes.
