I believe Eric's Shaye Saint John project truly was art, for the simple fact that each video was a total disconnect from reality and pulled the viewer into a strange yet creative place that couldn't be explained. You've done a good job in your video, but I think Eric's videos can be considered art. You see, criticism can be shown with art. Eric has probably criticized people, especially, young girls that gets a lot of surgeries in order to feel pretty. On his character's case, the girl's compulsive desire to feel pretty has happened after an accident. This is why I think his work's art. It shows us that being obsessed with being pretty is not good, and can even lead people to do risky things and to act strange.

I like Shaye. She is really funny and maybe even cute at times. From what I've seen on her livejournal page, she would interact with fans pretty often there and she just talked to them like a regular person, being really nice to them and all. I don't think she was insane as you said in this video, labeling something or someone to be insane just for making unsettling videos is really close minded. When so much energy and exuberance is put into something so bizarre (and even kinda abstract) as this, I think it's natural to lean to the idea that there was some point the creator was very passionate about making. In general I think a lot of people want to understand mind-fucking things (like the video "weirdest video you'll see guaranteed") and want there to be reason to such insanity or method to the madness because it just makes more sense and is more relatable than random shit for the sake of banana-balloon-cakes. You can also add to that, that some intellectual types (like myself) tend to try and find deeper aspects to things we enjoy.

'Turkey Day' is still one of my favourites. I remember a friend of his telling be about Erics death and I was pretty gutted (as much as one could be having not known the person, just the art). I think he was a genius - the aesthetic and the sounds used envoke a lot of fear which, if intentional, was indeed genius.

Shaye is truly art. You don't even need to look too far into it to get into the 'truth' of Shaye. She's very entertaining. The reason his email didn't go through is because the creator of Shaye, Eric, sadly passed away.

ScareTheater I bought it because at the time I had just come across the youtube videos. I thought they were creepy/amusing so I showed some to my sister. She was really creeped out, but she liked watching them, so it was fun to watch them together. If I remember correctly though, because this was years ago, the dvd is just the videos from the channel on a dvd. There may have been content on there that was "new" or, just not on the channel, but if so it was basically just more of the same, so it got repetitive and I didn't finish it. Edit: By the way, would you consider doing a video on Salad Fingers, and David Firth's stuff in general (spoilsbury toast boy etc)? I think that could be pretty cool.
