Could we not say that the will is always orientated towards the good? And the will inclines towards the good in so far as the intellect perceives the good _as good_ ? I can perceive the good in one sense without really understanding or comprehending that it is in fact good. Do our intentions not follow from what our intellects perceive as good, such that the will always follows the intellect? If, all things being equal, a heterosexual man were to choose $10 over marriage with the most beautiful woman in the world with a substantial dowry, we would probably consider him to be insane [notice that I said "all things being equal"]. What we intend- that is, what we really intend as opposed to what we say- surely follows from what we perceive as good?
