You people really do not know how much spiritual poison you spout by your naive overpraisings and unthoughtfully assigned titles. حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ‏: ‏ حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ، قَالَ‏: ‏ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ رَجُلاً ذُكِرَ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ رَجُلٌ خَيْرًا، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم‏: ‏ وَيْحَكَ قَطَعْتَ عُنُقَ صَاحِبِكَ، يَقُولُهُ مِرَارًا، إِنْ كَانَ أَحَدُكُمْ مَادِحًا لاَ مَحَالَةَ فَلْيَقُلْ‏: ‏ أَحْسَبُ كَذَا وَكَذَا، إِنْ كَانَ يَرَى أَنَّهُ كَذَلِكَ، وَحَسِيبُهُ اللَّهُ، وَلاَ يُزَكِّي عَلَى اللهِ أَحَدًا‏.‏ Abu Bakr reported that a man was mentioned in the presence of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and someone praised him. The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Woe to you! You have cut off the head of your companion!" and he repeated that several times. He went on, "If one of you must praise someone, he should say, 'I consider that so-and-so is such-and-such.' Allah is the One who will take account of him if he thinks that he is indeed like that, No one can appropriate Allah's right to attest to someone's character." حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ‏: ‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ‏: ‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، قَالَ‏: ‏ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مَعْمَرٍ قَالَ‏: ‏ قَامَ رَجُلٌ يُثْنِي عَلَى أَمِيرٍ مِنَ الأُمَرَاءِ، فَجَعَلَ الْمِقْدَادُ يَحْثِي فِي وَجْهِهِ التُّرَابَ، وَقَالَ‏: ‏ أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنْ نَحْثِيَ فِي وُجُوهِ الْمَدَّاحِينَ التُّرَابَ‏.‏ Abu Ma'mar said, "A man began to praise one of the amirs. Al-Miqdad began to throw dirt in his face and said, 'The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, commanded us to throw dust into the faces of those who praise people.'" Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 339 Let us fear Allah alltogether an be thankful I cannot throw dirt at you through the net.

Rubmuhacer, what a foolish response you have given. How many people praise pious people, or scholars. Doesn't calling a person pious count as praise? Is not Sheikh Ibn Taymiyya referred to as sheikh Al-Islam? "Imam An-Nawawi said in Sharh Muslim on the hadiths that indicate forbidding praise: "The forbiddance is understood to be in regard to exaggeration in praise and adding to the description, or praising someone who is feared to become self-conceited or the like if he hears the praise. However, if this is not feared for a person because he is quite pious and has a sound mind and deep knowledge, then it is not forbidden to praise him in his presence without exaggeration; rather, if this leads to a benefit, such as urging him to do good or to increase his good deeds, or to be persistent in doing it, or to encourage others to imitate him, then praising him is recommended.""
