Exactly this! And people saying that "he's not buzzy, it doesn't take that long to upload a vlog" have to keep in mind that he's also making a documentary, writing a book, has FIVE CHILDREN, is trying to keep his weight down, and a lot of other stuff that we don't even know about! Totally agree! Shay, I donno if you'll read this, but you've really impacted my life in a big way. The advice you've given and just living your life has been a great example to me and how I want my family to be someday. The whole youtube community has helped me gain a broader perspective of the world even if it is through the internet, I feel like youtube has helped me grow and become a much more open person to other lifestyles and cultures. Thanks for picking up that camera Shay, you've changed thousands of lives and some of the negativity you get on these videos shouldn't outweigh the good comments:)

It's his job, his rules and basta. We agree or disagree but it wont stop people from watching and people from subscribing because he handles his craft well. We are not entitled to anything, whether he gets 500 000 or 200 000 he is still going to get paid and feed his family.so let's stop acting like brats and be grateful that he posts videos everyday for approx. 10 mins instead of 2 a week for approx. 5 mins

Everyone needs to chill. This is a family, this is not a trashy reality show. Shay edits these videos, not companies. They take time out of their day to record this and then sit down for 2-3 hours to edit and upload. They do not need to do this, they did it for five years (which is 4 more years than they promised). If you do not appreciate what they have sacrificed and done for us as viewers then maybe you should go watch someone else. There are plenty of other content creators out there, go watch on of them.

Cameron K it can when you have to transfer dozens of long clips from probably three different cameras, then pick out the proper clips, then edit then to transition properly. And then you have to check it out, render it, upload it to youtube and do the endslate + annotations... It's infact alot of work

Cameron K Um it absolutely can, especially if you started out with much more footage and wanted to cut it down to ten minutes. I know of many youtubers that spend at least an hour and up to 8 hours editing a video that is less than 15 minutes. It actually takes longer to edit a 10 minute video rather than a 30 minute video because there is much more footage to condense.

Cameron K Upload all the footage, compress it, edit, compress again, upload, put on the captions. Shay takes pride into making sure that his transitions and footage are neatly edited it takes about 2 hours. Plus him having all the kids that run in and out of the office and distract him while editing. Him having to make sure that the brand deals are their and clear. It all adds up.

It probably takes him maximum, 1 hour to actually edit... And that's for a normal length video. The est of it (Uploading etc.) He can leave alone and do something else. As for filming, he isn't doing anything out of the ordinary for his day. It takes 5 seconds to pick up a camera and turn it on... Also, he doesn't edit the end-slates, people send them in and it takes probably 1 minute to pick one out and add it into the end,

I LOVE how people get pissed that Shay posts a shorter video than normal, it is ridiculous for so many reasons, but heres the main two... a) It was Thanksgiving - aka family time. Not everyone wants a camera crammed into their face 24/7 - especially at family functions. FunnyVideos Galore Babe, I worked last night, on Thanksgiving. You know what happens if I don't do my job well or at all? I get fired and go to jail. 10 minute vlogs are fine if there is quality to them and entertaining. Shay should have filmed more of them playing games than carrying in food. I completely get that its short, Collete usually also films a lot which helps with longer vlogs, but she was cooking yesterday so I get why she couldn't pull out a camera every 10 mins.

I've been watching the shaytards for around 5 years and I'm not one to comment and complain but a ten min vlog? You had a one take yesterday which was understandable and I was expecting that but all you got was 10 minutes?? I will forever watch your vlogs but I kind of feel like you're forgetting about the vlogs because you have other projects but where are these projects? For all the people saying you get it for free don't complain. Shay wouldn't have the life he does now (which I am proud of what he has accomplished and everything) if it wasn't for US, his viewers. This is his job. People clicked on this video, just like they will for the christmas special to see a good family celebrate a holiday and to be a apart of their lives, which isn't this what vlogging is about? I've had my rant and you can argue back, thumbs down, like what ever I've said my opinion (which we are all entitled to). I just hope shay takes mine and everyone else's opinions and makes something from them. It's not a hate comment it's a simple opinion and feedback.

They have a life to live, and if you are so ungrateful for a 10 min vlog, then go make one yourself everyday of your life and see how you like it. It can't be easy to be filiming when your family is there, especially during holiday season, where all you want to do is spend time with tour loved ones. My daughter Lily has been watching your vlogs for quite a while. I, her mother, have been listening in and I have to say I have been very impressed with your vlogs!! My daughter has down syndrome and has learned so much from watching your family. From your love for family and God to the simple joy of just being a family and your love for each other. One thing I don't like is people criticizing the Christmas album. While yes, they are trying to get people to buy it, I also think it's something Colette is proud of. I said this in a comment earlier I would like to state it here but elaborate in a greater context. To me a true fan is someone who doesn't think negatively about what they are supposedly a fan of. If you say you love something but throw negative words about them or it, than obviously you do not care all that much about what you say you are a "Fan" of. If this is the case than I would like to ask why do you watch or do something that you don't like? A fan to me is someone whom loves whatever they are a fan of, and they love it or them unconditionally. Doesn't matter what they or it does or says, you just love it, watch and support it or them to it's fullest. This is what a fan means to me and this is what the Shaytards mean to me. I love all of them unconditionally, and it doesn't matter if its a 2 minute clip or a 30 minute vlog, I am just happy to see them for those minutes and can't wait for the next, even if they do something for the whole vlog like clean their house all day or they shay just walking around talking about how good the turkey looks. The thing is that Shay needs to realize how much the vlogs truly mean to people. there are people out there who have horrible lives when they're with family. they might be watching this video while they're parents are yelling at each other. The vlogs are the only escape some of these people have and he needs to realize that quick or the negative comments will continue to rise. someone once told me "whatever job you have in this world, make sure you do the job to the best of your abilities." basically never half-ass the job. if i were him, i would do whatever i could to make sure the quality of the vlog is excellent. he should stop taking on so many projects and focus on the vlogs and the happiness you bring to the viewers is priceless. you could do as many brand deals as possible but it wont make you truly happy. making your viewers happy is the greatest thing ever as a youtuber am i right? just some thoughts i had on the subject matter
