I was so excited for this vlog because Shay said that there will be a huge Shaytards Thanksgiving vlog and what do we get a 11 min vlog . Now I get that Shay has a big family and he does want to spend time with them but maybe he should make sure that he is really going to do not say he is but then not have it. And i hope all these daily vlogs of December pays of for all these short vlogs that he has given this month . Like so it will get to the top and Shay can see this!

Totally agree! Shay, I donno if you'll read this, but you've really impacted my life in a big way. The advice you've given and just living your life has been a great example to me and how I want my family to be someday. The whole youtube community has helped me gain a broader perspective of the world even if it is through the internet, I feel like youtube has helped me grow and become a much more open person to other lifestyles and cultures. I LOVE how people get pissed that Shay posts a shorter video than normal, it is ridiculous for so many reasons, but heres the main two... a) It was Thanksgiving - aka family time. Not everyone wants a camera crammed into their face 24/7 - especially at family functions. Everyone needs to chill. This is a family, this is not a trashy reality show. Shay edits these videos, not companies. They take time out of their day to record this and then sit down for 2-3 hours to edit and upload. They do not need to do this, they did it for five years (which is 4 more years than they promised). If you do not appreciate what they have sacrificed and done for us as viewers then maybe you should go watch someone else. There are plenty of other content creators out there, go watch on of them.

Cameron K it can when you have to transfer dozens of long clips from probably three different cameras, then pick out the proper clips, then edit then to transition properly. And then you have to check it out, render it, upload it to youtube and do the endslate + annotations... It's infact alot of work

Cameron K Um it absolutely can, especially if you started out with much more footage and wanted to cut it down to ten minutes. I know of many youtubers that spend at least an hour and up to 8 hours editing a video that is less than 15 minutes. It actually takes longer to edit a 10 minute video rather than a 30 minute video because there is much more footage to condense.

Cameron K Upload all the footage, compress it, edit, compress again, upload, put on the captions. Shay takes pride into making sure that his transitions and footage are neatly edited it takes about 2 hours. Plus him having all the kids that run in and out of the office and distract him while editing. Him having to make sure that the brand deals are their and clear. It all adds up.

It probably takes him maximum, 1 hour to actually edit... And that's for a normal length video. The est of it (Uploading etc.) He can leave alone and do something else. As for filming, he isn't doing anything out of the ordinary for his day. It takes 5 seconds to pick up a camera and turn it on... Also, he doesn't edit the end-slates, people send them in and it takes probably 1 minute to pick one out and add it into the end,

FunnyVideos Galore Babe, I worked last night, on Thanksgiving. You know what happens if I don't do my job well or at all? I get fired and go to jail. 10 minute vlogs are fine if there is quality to them and entertaining. Shay should have filmed more of them playing games than carrying in food. I've been watching the shaytards for around 5 years and I'm not one to comment and complain but a ten min vlog? You had a one take yesterday which was understandable and I was expecting that but all you got was 10 minutes?? I will forever watch your vlogs but I kind of feel like you're forgetting about the vlogs because you have other projects but where are these projects? For all the people saying you get it for free don't complain. Shay wouldn't have the life he does now (which I am proud of what he has accomplished and everything) if it wasn't for US, his viewers. This is his job. People clicked on this video, just like they will for the christmas special to see a good family celebrate a holiday and to be a apart of their lives, which isn't this what vlogging is about? I've had my rant and you can argue back, thumbs down, like what ever I've said my opinion (which we are all entitled to). I just hope shay takes mine and everyone else's opinions and makes something from them. It's not a hate comment it's a simple opinion and feedback.

sandyreadsalot shay is where he is because of the vlogs, you're right. But he doesn't work for us. Why would you think that complaining will make this better? They have a life to live, and if you are so ungrateful for a 10 min vlog, then go make one yourself everyday of your life and see how you like it. It can't be easy to be filiming when your family is there, especially during holiday season, where all you want to do is spend time with tour loved ones. And maybe he is forgetting the vlogs a little bit, but maybe he just wants to move on, make something else. He never signed a contract with us which said he would make vlog forever, he can do whatever he likes with his life and he shouldn't be getting all this "hate" for short vlogs, when everything he does is to make us happy and VOLUNTARILY.
