Hey Jen, glad you saw my comment on the other video. Ways of treating do include a CPAP machine (some people love it, some hate it) and for the people that don’t want a machine, they make oral appliances (think of it like a night guard) that put your jaw in a more advantageous position so that your tongue is less likely to fall back and occlude your airway. Its something to look into.. Also another thing to note that we as dentists are responsible for screening for signs and symptoms of OSA and usually refer to a sleep specialist for a sleep study (PSG- polysomnogram) which is the gold standard for diagnosing the condition then we can make those OSA appliances if you’d prefer it over a machine. I’m available if you have any questions!

I was a sleep technologist in a hospital before. It’s definitely OSA. Getting a sleep study would be good! Since the dr would be able to determine what’s causing your apnea. Typically seen in overweight people but those that are slim can have it too due to the lack of airflow when you’re sleeping since the muscle collapse and relaxes. Usually you can get reconstructive surgery for the nasal to widen your airway through your nose or to live with the apnoea machine which is a hassle imo. But if sleeping on your side works, stick with that! Hope this was helpful 🥹

people have no control over something like their voice and it's disgusting to try and talk negatively or insult someone that way... like it can create unnecessary insecurities, it's just people projecting cuz they're miserable. it's like genuinely making fun of someone's laugh, something that means they're happy, whatever and trying to put them down over it just weird behaviorrr

About Jen's not breathing problem, I heard you can go to a really good speach therapist and fix that with exercises. That's probably happening because her tongue/throat muscles are weak and idk if she's a mouth breather but she might have deviation of the nasal septum and that can be also fixed but with surgery

Hello, I’m a respiratory therapist. It does sound like obstructive sleep apnea. If you see a doctor they will do an overnight sleep study. Try to sleep on your back during the study so that you can qualify for a CPAP machine. It is dangerous and I really advise prioritizing going to a doctor about it.

I used to work in a neurology and sleep medicine office ( I’m not an Md I was just a receptionist but I learned a lot) and you definitely need to have a sleep study done. They even have tests you can take home depending on if your insurance covers it But you’re right you may need an cpap or apap machine. And it’s a big commitment but you’ll notice a difference and should feel way more well rested!

Hi everyone, I wanted to respond to Jenn’s Sleep Apnea. I think it is psychological and I would recommend her look into the metaphysical cause of Apnea. Here is something that I found: You often felt suppressed in a family that demanded too much of you. Your relationship with your mother may have run hot and cold, leaving you with a cup that is always half full. The attention and love would often leave you confused and uncertain of your self-worth. You may keep yourself small as it provides safety and gets you out of harm's way. If you were raised in an environment where your emotional needs were met with hostile reactions, it may have been difficult to find emotional peace. This resulted in feelings of guilt and shame for expressing your needs. You often deprive yourself of love and support by relying on yourself. You tend to overanalyze your mistakes, which results in more pressure to be perfect. Your mind has programmed you to believe it's safe to explore deeper emotions when you're sleeping or crying, which causes you to drown in your emotions. Denying how you truly feel has kept you safe and sane. You are often not aware of these intense emotions. Suppressing the emotions and trauma serves you well, as you are already tired and depleted. Dealing with emotions just makes you feel even more exhausted. You often get so preoccupied with pleasing others and trying to fit in that you ignore and abandon your needs and goals. You sabotage your personal growth by always focusing on others' needs and putting your needs last. You fear that abandonment and rejection will follow if you speak up, so you suppress sharing opinions. Giving time and support to others is easy, but it can be hard and even challenging for you to receive support. You feel a need to protect yourself. You often have many friends yet still feel alone. You use your sarcastic nature as a façade to protect yourself, often using anger and resentment to keep people at bay. Reflective questions: • Always explore your birth trauma and see the Birth section. • Explore when you were born. Especially during your first breath. How did it feel? How did your lungs feel? Explore any feelings of panic, sense of being overwhelmed, or feeling out of control. • How well did your mother bond with you? Did you feel blocked or resented by your mother? • Was your mother able to express love in a way that was fulfilling? Which issues between you and your mother feel unresolved? Explore further possibilities. • Explore trauma related to suppression, being made to feel less worthy and insignificant. Who made you feel this way? How did this make you feel? • You don't feel important enough to be loved and have to adjust your standards and self-worth in order to be accepted and loved. How did this make you feel? • Did you feel rejected or abandoned by your mother? Was she emotionally unavailable? How did this affect you? Explore further possibilities. • Did you feel comforted by your mother during the night or whenever you were expressing needs? Explore how your mother comforted you during the nighttime. Explore further possibilities. • Explore trauma that ancestors may have experienced during the nighttime. Such as surviving a war environment. Were you mistreated or threatened during the nighttime? What is the threat? What are you scared of? What was your relationship like with your mother and father? What were your mother and father's relationship like towards each other? If there was a strain, how did it affect you? • At what point did being quiet and holding your breath keep you or make you feel safe? What were (or still are) you hiding from? • During fetal stages, could your blood flow freely around the lung and chest area during the last trimester? If it feels challenging, then explore. How did it make you feel? Where in your life can you identify with similar emotions and situations? • Explore points where you feel hollow, as if there is a void present in the solar plexus during womb stages. If this is relevant, explore how this void keeps you safe. Safe from what? Safe from feeling what? • How does it keep you safe to hold on to anxiety? Some people say it's like a friend. They find comfort in the familiar feelings, even though it's causing them a lot of emotional discomfort. Have you made a familiar bond with the anxiety and trauma? Explore the familiar anxiety and trauma. Explore secondary gain / hidden benefits of it. • We encourage you to talk about the unprocessed grief. Anger and resentment accompany the grief. • Suppressed anger. Who is the anger and resentment directed at? Remind yourself that it is safe to express yourself now. What happened in the past when you grieved or cried? Explore further possibilities. • Some Apnea sufferers have said that it feels like they have an unconscious death wish. Why? What in your life do you need to escape from? This also relates to boundary failures. • Are you tired of your life and circumstances? Perhaps you want a way out. However, you do not want to follow through with actually leaving (passing away). The apnea is a cry for help that the body expresses to you. Where in your life do you need help? You are searching for a heart answer and not a head answer. Heart answers are one-word answers, and they're emotions, not stories. • Explore low self-esteem. Who or what made you feel insignificant, ashamed, or disgusted with yourself? Explore your ability to express personal boundaries without anger. Explore all these points in the development stages as well and differentiate between maternal and fetal stress. • Was your mother told to delay giving birth until doctors arrive? If yes, explore further. Explore panic, stress or frustration. • Did you feel wrapped too tightly in the blanket during the early infant stages? If yes, then how did this make you feel? Explore reactions such as, "I can't breathe, I can't take a deep breath." Suffocation, restrain, or frustrated because of the lack of movement. I hope this helps!!! All the best! I love you guys!

Just to clarify sleep paralysis is not always not being able to move atall, I personally also cannot breathe but sometimes parts of my body do move, I make a weird noise and I’ve sat up once before but my whole body just feels numb paralysed and detached and panicky at the same time very weird. Again back sleeping and heat or restriction or over sleeping and stress as well trigger mine! I also get head and ear ringing ❤

That Microsoft hack was nuts and pathetic on their part lol. BTW Kennedy INFP's are naturally scattered - it's why they're the creative types. They're led by their interests and while it can go too far to the point that it negatively affects their lives (which then results in an ADHD diagnosis), they can't entirely lose that scattered way of thinking - it's an integral part of their mental wiring.
