Yesterday my husband and I were swimming, the water was perfect I had on my goggles (South Florida East Coast) and I saw what I thought was a beaded bracelet but it was just a hair tie of some sort 😅 Nice finds! ❤

I've been watching your videos for a while now. Really enjoy watching what you do. I want to start doing some metal detecting myself. I really enjoy finding things. I was looking into getting a Manticore metal detector and an extreme scoop. Are they really worth the money? I also noticed on land that I think you use a different metal detector? If so, which one and why? Any helpful tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to seeing more videos, and maybe one day I'll see ya on the beach.

I prefer the XP Deus on land. It's really lightweight, and performs really well, especially in trashy areas. As far as the Manticore and the scoop being worth it... absolutely yes! That is, as long as you use them. For a novice who might go out once in a blue moon, its gonna be overkill. But if you think this is something that you're gonna stick with and enjoy, you won't regret it

Question about scoops - What size (dimensions) do you prefer for wet sand. Same question for dry sand. Lastly, what size hex holes are best? Thanks!

I like the 7" wide scoops. As far as hole sizes go, I prefer the hybrid scoops that have larger holes on the outside, and smaller slots/holes in the back for the smaller targets that fall through

I lost my wife from Alzheimer's last Mother's Day. Her name was Ramona and from Tulsa, Oklahoma, some great girls out that way! I live in Lewiston,NY, not far from Buffalo!! I am renting a condo in Venice for the first three months of 2025. We used camp in the area and spent a lot of time detecting there and Siesta Key over the years. I started detecting in Florida in 1967, finding one cent! I have two Excalibur detectors knowing that you were using one earlier. I am considering a Manticore, what would you suggest? The excal is still a rock star in the saltwater. Mine was on its way out, and required a bunch of repairs. That's the only reason why I went with the Manticore. I don't regret it though!

That's really tough. Both are exceptional machines. The Deus 2 is a little cheaper, and in my opinion is a better all-around machine. If you're just hunting the water, I'd say go with the Manticore

the first ring i ever found is a tungsten carbide ring ,like $100. (still have it). ,some one who owns a pawn shop was telling me ,the broken necklace i found is low carat gold ,the one guy who looked at it. cuts gems for a living. ,he was saying (heavy plating) ,junk. but both were saying. being it was close to the ocean. ,what made it oxidize. ,i still think its junk. ,we dig gold out of the ground here in california. have a good day .

I have a 3mm and 5mm wetsuit, and a 7mm semi-dry suit. I wear the 3mm for about 75% of my wetsuit hunting, and the 5mm for maybe only a few weeks when the weather is cold. The 7mm has only been used about 3-4 times when the 5mm suit just wasn't enough.

The only thing is that it gets HOT when I'm out of the water. Also, the trash to treasure ratio isn't as good in the dry sand. I typically do much better when I hunt the water
