I lived in Fort Myers for 5 years and only went to the beach once for about 2 hours. I'm not a beach person. I'd rather walk the beach at night. I moved back to New England bc Florida just wasn't for me, but I'm very interested in metal detecting, always was. Maybe I'll take it up as a hobby in my retirement.

Why do so many site say it’s illegal to detect in the water in Florida I don’t understand I can’t afford to get my machine confiscated lol

Ran across your videos and have had the bug for a metal detector for a while now. Living in a history rich small coastal town in GA with a hunting club that use to be an old railroad town I think I could find some definite keepers. Can't find any good deals on marketplace so think I'm going to bite the bullet and get a cheapo and see what we can find. If I get lucky I'll try to get a better one. Keep up the good videos man. Binge watch worthy for sure.

Supposedly you can’t metal detect in the water in Florida…. Is this even enforced at all bc that’s the best place imo just cuz I love being in the wayer

I know there's a lot of sentimental value in rings. Especially wedding rings and I'm wondering...don't people usually have expensive rings insured? In case it isn't found, it can be replaced. But I'm so glad you found it for them. You're awesome!

I found one once. It was lost on and old army parade field. I the school was in South Carolina the ring was in Georgia. I found the owner he was in Florida. He said he thought he lost it when he went swimming in a lake in Georgia. I said nope on a parade field. He told me he lost it 42 years ago. I mailed it to him with tracking. He got it.

That's awesome and you got paid by the second Ring..hey maybe the owner of that one reaches out..the reward is better than the find !!! Oh yeah 👍
@DetectFlorida2 күн бұрын
The son of the owner of the other ring actually saw this video and reached out to me!!! He provided photos of the ring, and proof that his parents stayed at the rental right in front of where I found the ring!

I always say if you see a diver or someone metal detecting nearby when you lose something you can probably ask them to keep an eye out for it and give them the area it was dropped if you can. They are usually willing to help if they can. I remember once losing a ring my mom got as a gift from my dad that no longer fit her so I got it. I lost it at school back in 5th grade, the only year I went to that school, and my cousin started going to that school almost 6 full years later she had a friend find my ring then wear it back to class. My cousin got it from them knowing it was my ring and returned it. If my cousin didn't recognise my ring from me wearing it in the past around her then I would have never saw it or have the chance to wear it again.

See you say deserving couple. I say they probably have enough money to replace a ring. To them its just a symbol. To a poor person it could be food and a place to live. It may be special but its just an object to one person but possibly survival to another. And you can have jewelry made to look identical. Plus a funny back story for the kids and grandkids. They were lucky to have you come and find it when you did.
