I swear almost everyone in Asheville has the same warm energy, its great! Also, was this an intentional dig at young women or was that unintentional?
@Mokkel732 жыл бұрын
@@Ruby-cb6hw I was not trying to dig, but I was being intentional: I miss that kind of warm combination of empress dignity, force and gentleness combined in women today. Women today are letting out more of their shadow than their light. This woman is a rare exception.

Watching my daughter work all day as an underpaid school teacher and come home exhausted makes this life style look heavenly. I was able to work from home and home school our five kids, so her lifestyle looks so stressful to me. My granddaughter is seven years old, and I watch her come home with home work, then there’s dinner time, reading time, bath time and bedtime. Mom still has prep for the next day, so there’s only a short amount of together time. Yet I can’t get her to look at tiny house living. She said she’d be embarrassed! Good heavens. I would live in one in a heartbeat! The slower paced life it affords is priceless. I admire this woman for thinking outside of the box. (And yes, I admire my daughter for being willing to work so hard to take care of our sweet granddaughter!)
@kellymurphy46322 жыл бұрын
I am one of those teachers who, like your daughter, works many hours. (Unfortunately, tiny house living is just as expensive as regular living on a teacher salary. Tiny house costs are high and then you have to have land to put that house on.) And that is the most embarrassing part-that teachers can’t afford to be able to afford anything. Been in it full time 15 years and don’t make $3000 a month-so sad teachers don’t receive a respectable salary. Your daughter should do herself a favor and use her skill to get into another profession that will respect her and allow her to spend time with her daughter. Blessings to her and all of your family!

I agree. Time rather than money. A tiny house plus the outdoors is the way I see it.
@dieseldabz71042 жыл бұрын
Ya not everyone is as fortunate ad yourself, stress is a thing we all deal with and I agree that this way of living is simple and ALOT less stressful and is a huge reason that so many people decide to live "off grid" It unfortunately is only going to get worse with what is going on in this world and with shit like social media for example. 95% of today's people couldn't EVER live like you or I and that is very sad.
@dieseldabz71042 жыл бұрын
@@kellymurphy4632 Stop complaining nobody made you choose your profession and lady you STILL make more than probably 60% of people in this country now. And true "tiny living" is most certainly cheaper as you aren't just living in a small house yet you change the way you live and spend in general. Think you still have some stuff to learn about the lifestyle lady and I'm not being rude.

Your statement of having the bath away from the toilet area and having the toilet away from the house is what so many people don't understand when I tell them how I want to build my home. Im so glad someone else feels that way and I'm not alone.

This home and the woman herself, is wonderful. So many of her ideas are tried and true from a century or two ago. Outhouses are great, especially if you garden. If the weather is too inclement or it’s dark, a covered chamber pot tucked under the bed, is handy, and you just dump it on the next trip to the privy. Open shelving is great, particularly if you are encouraged to keep your things tidy, and saves the cost of cupboard doors. This is a VERY sustainable method of living and running a business. I’m sure she finds her clients become life long friends. She has a pioneer spirit.

Lovely home! Wish I'd met her while being a part of a tiny home meetup group in Asheville. But one of the reasons I left Asheville was the enormous amount of biting insects that were making both my and my cat's lives a misery. Not sure where around Asheville she built her cabin, but I'd have loved to have known about it at the time...I might still be living there. Clouds of mosquitoes every-damn-where...maybe she is one of those people mosquitoes avoid, so she believes they aren't a problem? Sadly, I seem to be a skeeter smorgie.
