If you want Targaryen hair, do what the actors do that play them: put on a wig.

just what I wanted to comment. Just put on a wig! And having light-silvery grey hair isn't flattering for everyone. Often it makes you look older or sick.

@@Vreeb17 which shows you how very difficult it is to go from dark to silver. She did not attempt that in her bathroom with quick blue, someone did that for her... and even so, her beautiful hair was damaged and she cut it off. A wig is definitely the way to go or doing it slowly with a color specialist.

@@MetallicMagenta sure, but does it though? Most of those people go back to a darker shade after frying of their beautiful hair because they don't like it either. That's why a wig can be helpful. So, you can see in advance if you really like it on yourself. I'm not policing anyone what to do with their own hair. Calm down.

If you have super long hair and basically virgin hair, just spend the money to have it done perfectly. Especially now a days they can do so much and keep it healthier then you could at home. @@PokeMom13 Beauty schools teach local laws, sanitation, and basic cutting and styling. There's no "hair magic" taught there, unless you count how to mix and apply color & bleach. Anyone can take a cosmetology course and get licensed, it doesn't mean they're actually good at it and going to a salon doesn't guarantee you won't get booked with an inexperienced stylist who's going to fry your hair. Happened to me, girl had only been working at the salon for several weeks and she melted most of my hair off. Honestly my hair has always turned out 1000x better whenever I do it myself with products from Sally's.

To save the money and go to a hair dresser..BUT i did this 3 yrs ago..wanted to go Hot pink (i have dark brown hair)..well let me tell you i would have done less damage to my hair if i did it myself. It went from my waist to my shoulder blades and refused to dry for 8 hrs.. it completely destroyed my hair. Im talking squishy noodles-will fall if touched hair when wet. I couldn't brush my hair. There was no saving it. I had to buzz it all off and start fresh. Its now going to be my 3rd yr since i buzzed it off and im the length (shoulder) i was after the horrible bleach was done. Still another year or so for my waist length.

I think the part that made her hair break for sure was adding heat. You don’t add heat. Don’t like the darkness in the front. Now with the pink and the darkness all from the top down the back looks like a weird wig. Just buy wigs and save your hair from the damage. It’ll be so much better.

Why oh why would you go from gorgeous long healthy hair to artificial, weak, extremely damaged hair? It’s dry and like cotton candy. The platinum blond makes your skin washed out. The faded pink, actually really goes with your complexion. If you like so much hair change, why not buy a few really good wigs?????

my friend went to a hairdresser to have hers bleached and her hair got fried because the hair dresser left it on too long and all her hair started falling out from the top of her head and she had bald spots. She was devastated. She even won a law suit against the hair dresser for the damage. So even hair dressers mess up if you get the wrong one. Ive been to salons twice in my life and both times they screwed up my hair I never went back again. I would definitely trust this guy though to do my hair lol

Personal experience, but I will never set foot in another salon ever again after the last "professional" destroyed my hair 10 times worse than the girl in the video's. Her hair looks amazing compared to what I ended up with when I tried to go blonde at a 5 star high-end salon. I had every expectation that they would do a great job and was prepared to pay up to $1000 to get it done "the right way". Yeah... I walked in with long healthy dark hair, and walked out with a fried orange bowl cut. The stylist left the bleach on way too long and most of my hair fell out in clumps in the sink. I had to wear wigs for the next 6 months. I imagine lots of people have had similar experiences, hence why they opt to do their own hair at home.

I bleached my hair to dye it pink for the preschoolers I work with since it was about to be valentines day. I completely damaged my hair since I would bleach alot for fun colors. Luckily, I generally cut my hair extremely short, so after it became damaged, I decided "ok, welp, I guess the long hair is about to be gonezo" and cut it all off, shaved down sides and back while keeping a bit on the top like a short boy cut. After doing that and giving it about 8 months, my hair is back to normal :) still gonna keep it super short though since kids can't pull it now lol

My hair grows really fast, is mildly curly, and until a recent med change, was ridiculously thick. My hair care routine consists of washing and conditioning around twice a week, combing it while still wet, tying it up off my neck, and otherwise not messing with it. I always cut my own hair because I'm cheap and curls hide mistakes. Sometimes good hair comes despite our best efforts. However, other than a once every 5 years temporary color experiment, real coloring would only happen through a professional or my niece (who was practicing and training to become a professional).

I understand the desire to be blonde - it’s been driven into the psyche of women (in the USA, at least) that blondes are sexier, more desirable, and have more fun. Models and actresses from Jean Harlow to Farrah Fawcett to Gigi Hadid - blonde. The stereotype persists, even if women don’t consciously think it does. It’s everywhere. It blows. It’s perpetuated mostly by older men, though women play a role by trying to achieve an impossible look for most - platinum blonde. It’s such an outdated color, too - who really wants to look like Mae West? Sorry, I’m rambling. My advice is, if you want platinum blonde hair for a few weeks, buy a decent wig. Don’t destroy your hair. Tedx done. 😊

Hello from Southern California. I'm 70, was a natural strawberry blond until my mid 40s when it darkened. My hairdresser colored it for years but I started doing it myself. I now use golden blond which looks more realistic for my age. When I look at all the stuff they buy to do a DIY job I have to think it wouldn't cost much more to have a professional do it.

Well, I have hair longer than her and I just had a professional put highlights in on my almost completely Virginia hair. It's the last few inches that still have a bit of fake dye but I will soon get that cut off to be virgin again, other than the highlights. But my hair is THICK and LONG, to my hips. It cost me about $200 for JIST the highlights. I couldn't imagine a full dye job. At home is A LOT cheaper but the risks are greater compared to a good hairdresser.

I asked my hairdresser to dye my hair. She said all I can do is a full color or large streaks. Not all professionals know what they are doing. Last time they cut off 4-6 " of my hair when I asked for a trim.

She’s shown how to wreck you hair in 14 days! My late mother wanted silver hair back in the late 60’s early 70’s. Her hair was a beautiful brown/black. She wanted to do it “on the cheap”. She closed herself you in the bathroom for about 3 hours. She came out to use the phone in the kitchen. I stared at her, mouth agape. Her beautiful dark hair was orange! Like UT’s burnt orange! She says, “Mommy doesn’t look like Mommy anymore, does she?” She bundled me up into the car & we made a bee-line for her hairdresser in town. My mother was very lucky she didn’t melt her hair! She had nightmares for weeks.

Mine did a similar thing. Wanted to be blonde,it went bright orange. She had a heart attack before she could get to the salon. My sister brought her,her pink dressing gown to the hospital. She never got over having been in hospital looking like that in her pink dressing gown. Hahahaha

Something that I probably never understand is why they don't go to a beauty salon with a professional who knows exactly how to give them the result they want in their hair? 🤨 It may be expensive, but damn it, it will be more expensive to recover such destroyed hair.

They just really don’t know what they’re doing. ‘I don’t know why it got so bad from just 2 rounds of bleach’ - 2 rounds of bleach on the same head of hair is really aggressive lightening. I would never on scalp a client twice in a short period of time. And I don’t know one hairdresser that would attempt an on scalp bleach on themselves either.

Waist length hair in 5 years from what length?? Every professional I've ever been to has noted how quick my hair grows and it still took me 3 years to grow black box dye out to a shoulder length. What is her secret???

I have fast growing hair and grew out a pixie cut to a 'just above my shoulders' bob in nine months- I did avoid using straighteners and only used the hairdryer once a week. I also tried to avoid tying it back/putting it up and only had my colour done once during that time. It worked, but was it worth it? Nope, it nearly drove me round the bend 😆😆 and last night I had my hair cut back to a pixie!! On the plus side, I'm almost back to my natural colour (where on earth did all that grey come from!), and my hairdresser is going to add some colour next week. After years of (tint) highlights, I'm tempted to try a rich copper blonde

5 years at 12 inches a year is pretty normal.. so waist length in 5 years isn't that strange... I went from bald like with a razor to the bottom of my shoulder blade in 3... And I had some cuts and trims in that time.
