I've used Shrine drops and it definitely explained that one drop is one drop, NOT one pipette, which is what she did. One pipette is equal to about 6 drops in my experience, so she did two of each color, or 12 drops of each color! Now for the good news: it washes out super easily so just shampoo, shampoo, shampoo and everything will be ok!

@jenniferford20672 жыл бұрын
I wondered if she was about to do dropperfulls. I’ve seen this in other videos. I do not understand how someone could confuse a dropperfull for one drop. Also, you can SEE the color of the conditioner. This is not oxidative dye that has to develop. Direct pigments and semi permanent dyes look like the color that they are. They might be different when they mix with your hair color, but the intensity of the color will not get less or more. If it’s not pastel then it’s not going to tone your hair, it’s going to color it.
@amandawilson8902 жыл бұрын
Ya, but I'm convinced people get confused because the purple and blue toning shampoos and masks are SUPER vivid and dark. So even though the conditioner looks bright, they think it will be ok because its still lighter than purple shampoo.

In her defense, I have those products and they’re not really easy to dispense properly. I never seem to be able to just get drops. But also to the defense of the product, on the side of the box it gives you a gradient and the amount of drops it takes to achieve each color so if you want to tone you have to use less than what they suggest. But also this company provides actual toner so idk why she didn’t just buy that. They have a grey color too.

I was intimidated by the bleaching process as I had never bleached my hair before. I am still being very gentle with my hair and I am happy with it. This was something I wanted to try for the experience. These kinds of colors weren't nearly as nice as when I was a young teenager and then a young 20 something.. I'm 50 something now and on disability after being the pedestrian in a hit and run a few years ago. So there is no employer to give me restrictions on what I do with my hair. I call it my bucket list hairdo. I figured it would be a fun experience. Silvery gray on top, a blue lavender on bottom half of hair. I'm greatly enjoying it and even have some new makeup to try to go with it.

10:06 Well the good thing about conditioner is... usually it kinda spreads. But I only experienced this on wet hair. She is really really expecting this to not turn her hair blue?!? It would even be blue after leaving it for 1 minute after the application Edit: Okay, so she absolutely disregarded the condition in which her hair was prior. I only saw it really once she made these 4 buns. It was pale yellow in some areas, other straight platinum. No wonder the platinum didn't take as much pigment. Probably was too brittle, even though brittle hair usually takes more pigment. At some point...the hair can't hang on to any pigment anymore

Blue and purple semi permanent colors don't tone your yellow bleached hair to white. She is probably as confused as everybody who uses purple shampoo as a toner for their orange/yellow hair.
@mydogeatspuke Жыл бұрын
It depends how yellow it is. If it's a very pale yellow then you can get a nice "white" platinum by toning with purple shampoo. I had a full head of highlights for many years and did just that, although I did have to tone it with every wash as the shampoo isn't very pigmented. It won't make orange or pee yellow white though, no.

@@G-Star-Raw depends how strong it is, how porous your hair is, and how long you leave it on. I maintained my ash white blonde for years with just purple shampoo after lifting it to pale yellow. The problem is in how these people use it, and what they expect of it.

@@G-Star-Raw I said ash white blonde. Which is in fact white. Toned ash. Not ash blonde. Would it help you understand if I used numbers instead? I think she’s confusing this with the purple colored shampoo / conditioner that you can buy for greying hair… the color looks about as dark as what she mixed, but that doesn’t mean it’s the same. If the pigment is an actual “dye”, it’s gonna be intense (if you’ve ever had an in pen leak all over your hands, you know it does not come out easily like, say, an ordinary magic marker would). Beyond that, she’s clearly confusing “drops” with “dropper” 🙄. We could probably blame the language barrier, but I am not super confident that’s the only confusion at play here. File this under: “learning experience” … oh wait, she did it wrong twice, so isn’t doing the “learning” part. Ok then, file this under: “experience” 🎨🙄… bless her heart 🤭

That’s was I was thinking. I know this is old but if she wanted to tone her hair you add color to shampoo. I learned this accidentally. I was trying to do a lavender color & grabbed shampoo instead of conditioner (the bottles looked similar lol) it was a happy accident for me.

8:46 🙈🤣😆 I was reading all these comments on "drops" and NOW I get it. 😅 Is she blind? Did she forget her contacts? That first one was already 6-7 drops minimum. And I don't mean the first colour, but the first "drop" she put in. Omgsh 🙈🙈🤦♀️

What a rollercoaster! Shrine does explain that the color is very concentrated, and shows how the product looks with "1-2 drops" mixed into conditioner on 3 different levels of hair color. She made an extremely pigmented dye, which she knew was dye because she kept saying it! What I find wild is that Shrine does make toners in addition to the dyes, and she even said that, but yet she didn't use them when she only wanted to tone her hair, not dye it?! They have a lilac one and an ash blonde one that could have helped her achieve the color she was going for. The toners are less pigmented & still only need 1-2 drops! She had to have spent at least $35-45 on the 2 dyes and conditioner; she could have purchased a real toner and a purple toning shampoo or conditioner for like 1/4 of the price!
