I actually had an old classmate back in high school who was the same way. Except she was like this for pretty much EVERY class. And the best part is, she did it on purpose JUST so she could sleep in class (and I think also stick it to the teachers). She would study the material ahead by at least a few weeks and go to sleep in class, and the teachers would call on her thinking she wasn't paying attention, but she would just blurt out the right answer and then fall back asleep. It got to a point where all of her teachers pretty much just let her do whatever she wanted.
