poor people are out in the fields all day working in the sun therefore they tan and their skin gets dark rich people and the middle classes as well as artisans etc work indoors therefore stay pale as a result dark skin means poverty and you do not want poverty and having dark skin can be interpreted in certain parts of east asia as wishing poverty on the people you are associated with (superstition) kinda like how serving cold or uncooked food or food that doesnt need cooking (like apples vegetables etc) can in certain parts of china be viewed as being rude to guests because cooking food means you put effort into caring for your guests as a host even if it isn't a lot of effort as everyone has a stove and so it is the minimal you can do if you can't serve cooked food then you are a bad host and wishing poverty on your guests and or not willing to give them the minimum service expected of a host and therefore disrespecting them in that way unless you simply do not have the means to serve cooked food but even then it is bad because now they are indebted to your kindness and as a good host you should not be indebting your guest nor should a good guest be indebting their host especially if they are impoverished better to decline the offer of food entirely and tell them that even them offering rest under their roof is beyond what can or is to be expected of them and that you dare not encrouch on them any further (though you should not go to far in this manner either or you may cause your host embarrasment or to lose face because your good manners are too hard to match in kind)

Me and my friend were playing in the middle of the street of my neighborhood I was chasing him because he was holding a bag of chips and it only had one chip left I was trying to chase him but then I noticed that my brother was about to ride his bike towards me because I was in his way and before I could dodge him the braze-ons (The metal stearing things) cut my left ear and I was bleeding, my parents were away so we were home alone and I told my brother to go get some ice and just held a block of ice wrapped around by a towel to my ear the whole time while sobbing by the time my parents got back my mom took one look at my ear and said she could see the bone, thankfully I didn't need to get stiched but it left a pretty cool scar

Bro yesss this isn’t just a case in Asian countries, Hispanic ones too. I can’t speak for all of them, but particularly in the region of Mexico I’m most familiar with, the beauty standard is more leaning towards light skinned. I’m fair skinned myself but one of my childhood friends had a darker complexion and a lot of the adults mocked her because of it. They’d call her ‘prieta’ and ‘negrita.’ Which is kind of an insult. I never understood it, but it’s like learnt behaviors that get passed through generations. Another thing I noticed when I was a kid was that most commercials I saw on Mexican channels always featured the lighter skinned Mexicans as opposed to the darker more indigenous people. Very sad when you think about it 😔 not surprised this is the case in other parts of the world.

Gotta love the racist apologist that don't even realize their prejudice. There is difference from liking an ice cream flavor because its a preference and then telling other people they shouldn't enjoy that other flavor you don't like because YOU don't like it.
