If I’m understanding correctly, the owner who dropped it off got it from someone else who didn’t tell them the dog was ill, and they didn’t have the funds to address it.

A no hearted person wouldn’t have done anything. It doesn’t take long for an animal to get to this condition, days, if they are suffering from something. My girl had lymphoma and went from doing okay and tolerating treatments to internal bleeding in a matter of a week. It hurts to see an animal that badly off, but I’d rather give the people who did the right thing positive reinforcement than punish someone who might’ve just been in an unfortunate situation.

@@TheBaumcm I agree with you. It's hard seeing the pets get real sick and suffer because taking them to the vet can be helpful but very expensive. If the previous owner was also sick with either cancer or whatever and could be struggling with medical insurance, that can be pretty hard also. At least the dog survived and is doing very well.

I think the previous owner was experiencing health problems and couldn't afford to take the real sick dog to the vet. He/she thought someone else would help the dog because she\he couldn't. The dog got the help it needed. That's important.

Its your LOVE that gave him the strength and will to live. Repeatedly saying how perfect he is, is the most powerful and true example of unconditional love. God shining through both of you. Please rescue pets . We have so many that need it. Breeding and selling them is selfish. At least until every homeless pet has a FOREVER home.

I find it hard to blame the person who dropped him because it seemed it wasn't their dog but took it from another irresponsible person and this was the best they could do to try to help him. In the end, they were trying to get him help and which he got and thrived. The angels aligned to save him and that's what matters in the end.

We can never know the circumstances and while it’s unfortunate that he got to the state he did, I prefer to focus on the fact that they knew he needed help and rather than just letting him pass, did what they could.

He's a "double merle" Aussie, sometimes called "leathal white". Double merles happen when someone who doesn't know what they're doing, or doesn't care, breed two merles together, the result being 25% of the puppies being deaf and/or blind. I had a double merle guy once. He was probably the best dog I have ever had. He was deaf, but didn't really require much extra care than a hearing dog. It broke my heart when I lost him. So don't be afraid of adopting a double merle guy/girl. Aussies are smart and they life pretty normal lives, and they love you twice as much! I'd love th adopt this guy, but it might mean a divorce. lol Hope he has a great life!

The previous owner was not evil. You try feeling sick but struggle with medical insurance. Then you have a real sick dog that you love but vet care is real expensive. And you don't want the dog to die. So you find someone who could save your dog's life. Why would God punish someone for that? At least the dog's life was saved.

We don’t know how long this little guy was not feeling well, as it can take a very short period for an animal to get to this condition with certain disorders (I’m thinking xylitol as an example since they said he ate something) and while it sucks that he got to this point before they tried to get him help, I am going to focus on the fact that they recognized he needed more and put him somewhere he could get help.

@@kelleywyskiel3478 There was a note that explained everything that came with a dog. When we don't know what the circumstances were in this situation, I would not want to be judgemental. My family used to struggle a lot finacially especially when it was about ours and our pets medical needs. We were animal lovers. Some of our animals died at home and my parents couldn't afford emergency vet care. Mom had to sell a lot of animals that we bonded with so they can have better lives. It's wasn't easy. But mom felt she had to do what was right for us and her fur babies. Don't be judgemental when people go through hard times.
