She Found This On Her Mailbox And IMMEDIATLY Called ME is a YappyBeeman Production.
Welcome everyone to the start of a new honeybee season with me, Yappy Beeman. Things are starting off great so far. I have caught two amazing swarms and completed two bee removals that were amazing. My favorite was done a few days ago in Huntsville, Alabama from a porch column that had over 12 lbs of bees in it. Due to the logistics of the removal, no video was made but I did share the process of putting them in a beehive when I got home and how I weighed them to confirm the massive amount of bees. To see that video click here on our newly added second channel @HoneyMoneyTV where I will be doing more personalized livestreams and videos from the bee yard . To see that video, kzbin.infoZvV92LCl...

While in Birmingham, Alabama a few days ago, I received a call about a swarm of bees on a mailbox about 15 mins from my location. So I headed right over to find what you will see in this video. I was amazed to hear from the home owner that the bees had been there for almost 3 days. That would generally be very uncommon as bees don't stay in one place very long when they swarm like this. But the previous few days had been cold and rainy so that could explain their delay. But, that can also make them cranky and if messed with cause them to break their cluster and fly off before being caught. So I felt using the Everything Bee Vac I purchased back in the fall would be great to use on this swarm of bees. It defiantly did not disappoint. I was able to capture the swarm safely without harm and hold them in the container until the next day when I was able to put them in my horizontal beehive i purchased from horizontalbees.com
To check out the Everything bee vac go to allmybees.com and see if it is right for you.
Yappy Beeman is a professional bee remover performing live honey bee removals in Alabama as "swarmremover.com" and relocates them to apiaries away from residential areas so they can rebuild and thrive as a honey bee colony producing honey. Yappy is an Alabama Beekeepers association member that has performed over 1000 live bee removals. Yappy with the help of his great friend and mentor; @Jpthebeeman, a professional beekeeper , has learned many skills to remove bee swarms and honey bee colonies safely for the bees and homeowners alike.

A honey bee (also spelled honeybee) is a eusocial flying insect within the genus Apis of the bee clade, all native to mainland Afro-Eurasia.[1][2] After bees spread naturally throughout Africa and Eurasia, humans became responsible for the current cosmopolitan distribution of honey bees, introducing multiple subspecies into South America (early 16th century), North America (early 17th century), and Australia (early 19th century).[1]
Honey bees are known for their construction of perennial colonial nests from wax, the large size of their colonies, and surplus production and storage of honey, distinguishing their hives as a prized foraging target of many animals, including honey badgers, bears and human hunter-gatherers. Only 8 surviving species of honey bee are recognized, with a total of 43 subspecies, though historically 7 to 11 species are recognized. Honey bees represent only a small fraction of the roughly 20,000 known species of bees.
The best known honey bee is the western honey bee, (Apis mellifera), which was domesticated for honey production and crop pollination. The only other domesticated bee is the eastern honey bee (Apis cerana), which occurs in South, Southeast, and East Asia. Only members of the genus Apis are true honey bees,[3] but some other types of bees produce and store honey and have been kept by humans for that purpose, including the stingless bees belonging to the genus Melipona and the Indian stingless or dammar bee Tetragonula iridipennis. Modern humans also use beeswax in making candles, soap, lip balms and various cosmetics, as a lubricant and in mould-making using the lost wax process.

Love your longhive Langstroth hive. Question?? Is this your first longhive? Are you only use 1 swarm of bees? Why not start from the middle and let the bees work side ways?
@YappyBeeman
@YappyBeeman Ай бұрын
This is my 3rd Horizontal. My other 2 have the side entrance and it works well. The way I set up this one is to mimic hives I remove from between floors of a house. I can predict exactly how they build out and where they put will make honey vs brood. I can also manage space better in my theory with an end entrance. In the middle the put honey to the right and left of the brood. I will have a video to explain the theory in future video (s) and it will probably make more sense.

The colony could swarm away again from his hive box if they're in a bad mood or don't like it. If she stays in a cage, then the colony will be forced to stay there and accept the new location. Give them a day or two to settle down and accept their new home.

And thats where your assumption makes the Killer Bee Guys an authority they are not. The problem is, they thrive on the dramatics to get you to watch them. Then, unfortunately, you believe ALL BEES are killer bees and have no desire to educate yourself on this. What is a "killer bee" anyway? That is a descriptive falsely given to a genetic of bees that are actually just hyper defensive. Their true genetic is more commonly "africanized" but that doesn't sell the narrative if you are looking for views. My entire channel is shown with me not wearing a bee suit about 98% of the time. Not because I am some special, but because I took the time to learn about the bug I deal with and how to handle and work with them. I also learned that there are only a few areas in the USA that can sustain the africanized genetic . Of which, I don't live anywhere near. I know many bee keepers who keep the africanized bees and make honey with them just fine. But....they do not work them without proper gear nor would I. So please, take this as I hope you will as a great conversation and not as if I was trying to disrespect you personally. It was not my intent. I only hope that in the future, maybe you would ask a few questions before you assume something.

So maybe you and them will get on the same page one day and explain both sides. It can't be for the greed of making money off of honey?

Why do you feel the need to find and capture the queen?
@YappyBeeman
@YappyBeeman Ай бұрын
Couple of reasons. First is to confirm she is there and to check if there are any more. A cast swarm as bee keepers call it is a secondary swarm the hive kicks off with unmated queens. Larger colonies can do this. When setting up a colony caught like this, I only want 1 queen left in my box to ensure they dont leave with an unknown queen in the box. There is also a chance thatbeven with 1 queen they can still leave for various reasons so by caging her for a few days, the bees stay and start to build her a home without leaving.
@caveatemp
@caveatemp Ай бұрын
I see. So you want to find all possible queens in the swarm because- hypothetically- you could find one, cage her, and still the bees go off with another queen in the swarm. In this case, did you search for other queens? What do you do with other queens if you do find them? @@YappyBeeman
